Good day,

I have had this nagging vibration issue for a long time now and we have narrowed it down to the Hankook tires......

I purchase a combo wheels/tires from Tire Rack back in April and of course had them road forced balanced at Tire Rack. Well....I have been trying to fix this vibration under the seat and was thinking about every possibility.....BUT the new rims and wheels. No way could that be the culprit especially since I had the vibration issue on my now winter rims/tires.

However, I took it to my dealership once more to see if they could figure it out and the Tech decided to road force balance them all and found 2 issues. The front wheel/tire was slightly out of balance and the right rear tire had 35lbs of road force...whereas the rest of the tires were under 18. So the tire had a defect.

I called Tire Rack and got a new tire sent out and had it installed today and road forced balanced at the dealership.....and all seems well. I will know more tomorrow once I get get out of the slow traffic. I will be sending that tire in question back to Tire Rack in a day or so and get a refund.

So the lesson learned....just because Tire Rack road force balances tires does not mean they do it right and new tires can come out with defects despite the law of averages. Or maybe Hankooks are not as good as I thought they were?? :)

It was probably more the tire than Tire Rack. You would think that a place that does nothing BUT tires would be able to balance one correctly. But you never know I guess.
