So it turned out the grinding noises I thought was a bearing was actually the front inboard brake pad on the passenger side of the car....

Turned out somehow this pad was right down to the metal backing plate while its outboard counter part and both inboard and outboard pads on the driver's front were fine... I may have blown out the pad when I had to make a radical emergency stop two weeks ago when a douche bag lady cut me off so badly that I nearly t-boned her...thank god I missed her... she decided to go from one side street to another without heeding the stop signs as if she had the right of way... I was like wtf???? Some people are a menace to the road.

So for the time being I have replaced the front pads with a cheapy set and stuck with the stock rotors, although the inboard rotor surface on the passenger side now shows some battle scars from the previous brake pad.

But, I have began to compile my parts for my brake up grade:

Acquired: A set of f-body calipers, brackets, banjos, and sleeves. 100.00
Acquired: Rear Hawk HPS Ceramic pads for stock calipers. 70.00
On order: Fronk Hawk HPS Ceramic pads for 98-01 f-body application. 90.00
In the process of pricing/acquiring: front and rear cnc'd and cross drilled and slotted brake rotors in factory dia. 150.00 or less.

When I went to my parts place where I order stuff (its called Automotive Warehouse), the guy on the parts counter told me something interesting when I asked for a caliper re-build kit for my f-bodies... first, you cant really get rebuild kits anymore, and seconf, I can get completely re-man calipers for an LS1 application for 50.00 bucks each with core trade-ins... so for basically 200 bucks I can get fresh f-body calipers.

Will start posting pics shortly.

I cant wait.

Update: That I will do.

Trying to decide if calipers will be red or something different.

CTS V: Too pricey for me, but damn'd exotic for sure. ;)
