So I bought some Goodyear Eagle GT's about 2 years/35,000 miles ago and already I need new tires. I'm a bit disappointed that they didn't last that long but oh well. Anyway, 2 years ago I could afford a new set of Goodyears, this year I'm gainfully unemployed. So if someone has some recommendations on a decent set of tires, let me know. Looking for less than $100 a tire. The less money I have to spend the better. They'll be for stock rims so 225/60/16. And living in the south, they don't need to be all seasons or good in the snow. Let me know what you guys like.

Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum tires are $88 each at Tire Rack and they are really good tires. I have 20,000 miles on my Eagle GT's and they are just about to the wear bars, so yours lasted much longer than mine. But I just found out Goodyear is honoring the 50K warranty on my size so I should get a new set for 60% off the regular price.

I thought about going to discount tire and seeing if they would honor the warranty for the 15k I wasn't able to get out of them. But I have no way to prove that they were rotated and balanced every couple thousand miles, even though they were (rotated at least), I didn't keep receipts. They have worn evenly though. Less than 3/32 on each tire. Did you have to jump through hoops to get Goodyear to honor it?

I didn't have the tire dealer contact Goodyear yet. I should get a few more months out of mine (they were just rotated this week), then I'm going to replace them before the snow comes. When I talked to the tire dealer he said it shouldn't be a problem since I had them do the tire rotations so they where documented.

Around here a lot of people go with sigma regents. They are kind of like the special for our mechanic shop. I believe i got them for 80 bucks a peice when i had stock rims

They are made by Cooper which is a decent tire. The Fusion ZRI is also a good tire and it's made by Bridgestone/Firestone but they only have 3 left at Tire Rack.
