I changed the fronts by just removing the pins. I have not yet done the rears, but I would think you should be able to do the same...it's just the standard drum-in-hat parking brake that is commonplace these days, and therefore should not interfere with a pad chance.

I just changed mine this past weekend. I have done the fronts before. Very straight forward. Just unbolt the the caliper and the bracket if you are replacing the rotors as well. The rears are just as easy. But you need the special tool to compress the caliper piston. It is a screw in piston that you can not just push in with a c clamp like the front. I have a 2004 and the rear parking break is part of the caliper. It does not have a common drum in hat parking break that uses the inside of the rotor as the break. It took me 1.5 hours to change all 4. Fairly easy.

Any auto parts store will have it. It cost about $10. Here is a link to what it looks like. You just put it on a ratchet and screw the piston in. http://www.etoolcart.com/discbrakepisto ... -5060.aspx

GXPs work the same? I need to fix my squeeky break, sounds like a bent break clip. It's a front break. I've used the C Clamp method on other cars before so I'm somewhat familiar with that.
