Good day!

I am starting to think about my next mod already......dang....modding is quite addicting! :)

I mentioned in the past that I would be going to the Bilstein HD struts because they are quite a bit cheaper than the GXP versions and that they are probably better than the FE3 versions I have on my vehicle now. The only potential detriment with the Bilstein HDs is that my ride could get a bit rougher, so my thought ran to the AGX struts. I know that if I were to go to the AGX struts, I would have to install the 97-03 control arms and then get the GMPP front sway bar and luckily nothing has to be done to the rear to accept these struts.

I have not done a ton of research on the AGX struts, but can someone explain the big advanatge to these? Being adjustable I am assuming that I could get the ride quality I want depending on my needs...comfort or sport??

How hard are they to adjust?

Would it be worth the time and money to invest in all that it takes for these? Would I notice an appreciable difference in handling from the other two options?

How much would the AGX set-up cost me versus just getting the GXP struts?

Just give me some food for thought! :) Any help would be appreciated, as always.

Thanks.

I have yet to sit in a GXP yet so I can't give you a comparison of the struts- however I can say I have enjoyed my KYB AGX struts. They have 4 settings to choose from and are simple to dial in via small flat head screw driver in the fronts and a plastic dialer in the rears. Having to upgrade to the GMPP front sway bar was also a great improvement. The stock sway bar is a toy compared to the GMPP one.

Compare the cost between the two and go from there. Another question is are you planning to lower the car?

No plans to lower at this point. I think now that I have my headers lowering may be difficult.....so I have read.

Anyone else have any thoughts on my questions above?

UPDATE: Here is the price breakdown:

*****KYB AGX, strut mounts, 97-03 control arms, and TPR front end links = $1000

*****Bilstein HDs, strut mounts = $781

*****GXP struts, strut mounts $1200

Anyone know how the strut mounts from the w-body store hold up?

Tough decision...but the AGX route probably gets me more bang for the buck.....any opinions?
