Blew a chunk out of a piston from too much KR.

If it is melted then your combustion chamber temps are wicked high. That would tend to indicate lean. Richen it up a couple tenths, and see what happens.

I wouldn't be too sure.
That definitely looks like it could be detonation.
Get over here and start reading:

http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/e85-technical-forum/

From what I *remember* Nick Micale saying, high alchy content fuel mixtures can detonate and it won't show up on a knock sensor.

I've been there, dyno tuned with ZERO KR .....

I found a plug just like yours after a few healthy runs, you know what I found next ???

I have a 2003 stock GTP 160,000 highway miles never raced or run hard, that ruined the #3 spark plug worse than the one you have pictured. The car seemed to develop the problem while driving in the mountains. After Scanning and finding the cylinder that was bad I replaced the plug with a new original equipment plug. I have new wires and coil and injector on that cylinder and the car still missed at idle and set a P0303 Code. I ran a compression test engine cold and had 130 lbs of compression. I took it to a shop where they ran a cylinder leak down test and they said the car had a burned exhaust valve. I drove the car home getting ready to tear the engine down and guess what for no unexplained reason the next day while I was driving the car quit missing at idle no codes and running great. I can only assume a piece of the plug was stuck under the exhaust valve. I just purchased an Aeroforce scan gauge and will now some how try to determine the original problem. I should ad that i have checked the fuel pressure at the rail at idle and have 45 psi plus when I rev the engine the pressure increases then resumes back indicating that the regulator is working. I will repost if I find out anything after I receive my gauge and hook it up

OUCH! That is not very pretty. Definitely better tear the motor open and at the very least find the piece that broke off. If it's still in the cylinder it could cause some SERIOUS damage. If I ever pull a plug in the IROC and see that the top end of that TPI will be off faster than you can say "Oh F**K"
