Hello!

There are many choices for a CAI out there and I am trying to decide which one would be best for my 2004 Comp G...

ZZP CAI

K&N CAI

Wizzair CAI

I know everyone has their likes dislikes, but what I want to know is which one fits best and provides the best bang for the buck....as much as a CAI can do. I also understand that I could make one, but for now I am considering these three.

Any opinions?

Thanks!

Well since ZZP's is just an overpriced rip off of the WiZair unit, i'd skip on that. I just can't see a reason in buying one of these airboxes.. Sorry. Best bet is making your own. The intake temp is minimal in comparison so the box really does nothing for you. You're paying for a name in these situations.

I've actually discovered my intake, which consists of 4" stainless steel piping wrapped in heat resistant tape and a 9" cone stays colder to the touch (Running it HARD, it at the hottest is midly warm) than both my buddies GTP's Wizair intakes

ZZP is just a cheapened copy of the Wizair...

I myself went with the Wizair for 2 reasons....Price and looks!!! (also comes with a 9" K&N filter)

I do like the Wizair. I'm biased though... :D

^^^^ My thoughts exactly. Theres better things to blow $200+ on. Especially since you can make your own for as little as $30. It's not like the vendor ones flow better. Half of them use rippled tubing just at a larger diameter than stock. Still turbulent air, just more of it.

Hey there,

Thanks for the opinions....

One thing that does confuse me is that both Wizaired and the ZZP both have a clear top that to me further isolates the filter from the engine compartment and the K&N does not have a top and is open. I understand that the hood will come down and just about cover that area, but it would seem logical that a covered CAI would perform better.

Although nothing in this world is completely logical :) I read on a previous posting that an open air filter provided better performance. So who knows??

I know it's up on GPforums.net, and I THINK I saw it on here as well. But someone actually dyno tested the boxed intake compared to an open cone and the difference in HP was as little as like 1 to 2hp to the wheels. To me it's just so obvious that it's not worth the money.
