So.. was looking under the hood at some things last night in preparation for my upcoming build and had a little surprise. Found that my drivers side motor mount was broke. Not sure when it happened, and hopefully it hasn't been broke for very long... would hate to find out I've been beating the piss outta my car with a broken motor mount

I guess it's a good thing I was calling Ed today anyways

Those are the ZZP motor mounts, right? No matter how long it has been broke for you should still be alright. There is still the other upper motor mount and the lower motor mount. Actually, I have seen some people run with only one upper mount due to the mods they have done.

I did the same thing when I installed the RAT dog bones on my 97GTP. I ended up making a couple of washers to take up the space.

Give Vinnie a shout, I gave him a driver side MM a while back, maybe he still has it.

I see you guys saying he's fine running one. But if one broke, is it really safe to say that? That means there is some sort of movement somewhere and quiet a bit of it.

Well we don't really know why it broke in the first place. It could have been tightened too much. His engine could be that powerful that it snapped it. The mount could have developed a crack in it over time and the torque of the engine could have finished it off.

What we were saying is that he probably did not do any damage to the engine/trans with driving it like that because there are still 2 other mounts holding the engine in place.

The ZZP mount didint break. It was the bracket that mounts between the engine and the dogbone that broke. Nothing that ZZP had to do with it.

I believe the problem is with the bushings and inserts uesd in both the ZZP and Rat style DOG Bones ... they are shorter than the stock bushings and this allows the MM brackets to compress/bend and then break. As I mentioned above if you use a couple of shims to take space you'll be fine.
