Hey guys finally got my top swap and cam finished over the past winter break and got to drive it for the first time. School has been hell lately and I haven't gotten to post in awhile, but I am 2 weeks away from being done and going home for the spring and summer doing a co op. So my car is at home 300 miles away but I wanted to get some advice before I get home so I can start fixing a few small problems and yes I will get some videos of her :D ....
The car pulls very hard feel an amazing difference with the top swap and the cam, everything mechanically is great I am pretty sure and I got a nice tune done to her....
So the problems I have are....

1) My fuel gauge reads zero at all times...
2) I can not pass inspection because I now have another code present. (evap code not exactly sure the number I will provide it as soon as I can)
3) This one I do not care about because its an ongoing code that I have had for quite some time. It is a P0053 bank 02 sensor code. I have replaced the 02 sensors and it just will not go away...
4)*edit* Forgot this one and this is a weird one.... My areoforce gauge has stopped working lol is this because of the top swap?... I still gotta plug it into another gp or something to test it but this one sucks almost as bad as the fuel gauge...
Any advice on these issues is greatly appreciated thanks a lot

1. Make sure you hooked everything back up correctly and if you have HID's make sure the ballast is no where near the PCM it will mess with your fuel gauge as well as your DIC.
2. Dunno kus idk the code
3. If its the bank 1 sensor 2 then that is your post cat sensor. Did you have a cat welded into the pacesetter downpipe if not that O2 sensor measures the exhaust once it passes through the cat and that could cause problems. I just removed that O2 and put a bung plug in its place.
4. Make sure your jumper is on and everything is how it should be.

Thanks man I will check on the wiring. Do you think its a possible connection into the pcm or somewhere else?
I do have a cat welded in place.
What is the jumper is it part of the circuit or something? I will inspect my wiring for it once more if not that I guess I will just have to go down to drunkies place and test it on his gp haha.

Im really not sure for the gas gauge mine would mess up due to the hid ballast. The jumper is on the back of the gauge.

Undo all the connections at the pcm, take them off and then put them bak on. That should take care of both issues. Mine had the same issue after taking them apart to add the wires for the bbv and baro sensor. Give me a shout when you are back and I can meet up with you

So I am still having the same problems. Can not get my car inspected.... I have a P0053 code that appears every 2 days after clearing the codes. The problem is I have 3 monitors that will not turn off so I get the inspection after the codes are cleared. The monitors are the Evap system, Oxygen system and the OH which I do not know what it is, but thats the abbreviation for the code on the scan tool I am using from the local mechanic. Any help would be appreciated I really wanna get this thing inspected...

what kind of problems would you have if your ballast was mounted a tad close to the pcm? could it ruin the pcm? i have mine kind of sitting on my PCM tray.well held down.

The Evap purge solenoid sits on the front of the N/A engine. The purge line runs right next to the fuel lines all the way back to the tank. Make sure that is properly connected and that the hose is good

I had the "fuel gauge reading zero" issue after I finished my top swap and installed my new PCM (from Intense). They couldn't even figure out why it was doing it. I ended up buying HP Tuners, and uploaded my buddies tune file to my PCM (same year, and he is top swapped too). The new tune fixed my fuel gauge issue, as well as a rough idle issue I was having. There might have been an issue with them using the wrong OS in the tune or something. I'm not sure.

Yeah the tune guys said they couldn't figure out why they were reading zero lol.

Right now I am focused on getting the P0053 code to stay off so I can get my car inspected. It came on during the exhaust installation and the only electrical work that was done was the extension of the 02 sensor female piece I believe so I might buy an extension from zzp to replace the spliced one I have now and try getting a new 02 sensor and maybe just maybe it will disappear... ( yea right :P )

Why didn't you have them delete the Rear o2 sensor like I did, I also had my EGR code deleted as well. BTW do you have a Cat? I can't remember.

Oh and why haven't you called me or stopped by? I got the new wheels on and I'm going to be doing the coilovers on Wednesday...new brakes a couple days later hopefully.

Yo drunkie whats up man. Yo i just got ur number yesterday when u texted me I got a new phone again lol! Ive been workin my ass off man. But back to the car.... I had them delete the EGR. There wasnt a need to delete the rear 02 sensor because it is there and its not a problem. My code says its the front 02 sensor that has the problem. I ordered a new 02 sensor so I am hoping with the new 02 extension harness and new 02 sensor it should be able to get rid of that code I hope... And yes I do have a cat.

It can't be the sensor, your car wouldn't run right if that sensor wasn't reading right. That sensor is what tells the engine to change as far as air and fuel go.

Shit dude, I'm at a lose. It almost seems like a wire is pinched or something but then the sensor wouldn't work either.

I am going to try clearing all the codes and replacing the sensor once more and if this doesnt work I am getting rid of this car. I am sick of dealing with this computer bs. Either getting something new (pontiac g8) or an older car so I can actually work on the damn thing...
