when it comes to headers I see really cheap ones going on ebay but it doesnt say they fit the 04+ supercharged motors . . also has anyone had experience with the headers or should I stay away from them?

also should I get a downpipe, or the tog style one?

Mostly all headers will come with a downpipe already, either catless or still with a cat. I beleive they all fit the 04+, some with minor modifications. You will get a rear 02 sensor code which can be programmed out of your pcm, or you can just live with the orange light on... I have pacesetters with no cat and no resonator with 3 inches pipe just to before the fuel tank, and love them. A lot of people don't seem to like pacesetters due to the leaky y pipe, and tend to steer towards speed daddys for sticking on the cheaper side.

As far as i know stock mufflers aren't restrictive until what, 300+ WHP, which wont come from just headers. They do make it sound nice though :P

edit: Oh, that didn't answer your question lol, yes i have stock mufflers. Beleive it or not replacing the resonator with a 3 inch pipe gave it a slightly nicer tone in my opinion, didn't even make it much louder. IMO get the headers, see if you like the sound, if not replace the resonator with either a pipe or a different one and then get mufflers if you still dont like the sound.

First one is pacesetter style, which would be a no go because i think the crossover was welded wrong on those and require heavy modification.

Second is speeddaddy headers which i think a lot of people would recommend on here. They fit pretty god from what i hear, but have a ubend which isn't too big of a deal.

Third style im not sure about about, they look darn near identical to the speed daddys though.

I would say seccond option, but let the experts chime in.

Also if price wasn't too big of a deal, i would like to see somebody try these out :

#2!!! Speed daddy's are the way to go. And all the 3800 headers will fit all the 97-08 GP's no matter if it's N/A or S/C. They just list them as different things on ebay to get more hits in searches. Stainless steel will hold up pretty well and will hold up much better than coated mild steel like some other headers.

As mentioned, headers will come with their own DP.

Also, if you have the extra cash, the Wbody store headers might be the way to go, but if not, speed daddy's will be fine.

it's just the metal discoloring from the heat. kinda like the "burtn" tips you see on some aftermarket exhaust systems. I think it looks cool on the headers.

Yeah the speed daddy's and all the headers I can think of off the top of my head are all catless. As for tuners, I don't know anyone out that way, but I'm sure someone might.

Isn't Tengis on CGP around Houston? I know he used to tune, not sure if he still does.

Holy shit.... That's not good

There WAS (emphasis on was) a guy around here with a 3.0 with NOTHING else. Last I heard, chipped piston, engine gone, car was sold and someone gave it a transplant.

Yes Tengis is in Houston and he has a performance shop that specializes in the 3800.

Did you ever buy headers? I have a set of Speed Daddys that have never been used and I am in Fort Wayne, PM me.
