As some of you are aware, earlier this year I suffered the destruction of yet another tranny. So after months of sitting I finally got the time (and motivation) to tear into the car and begin taking things apart. The damage was far worse than I thought. Here are some pics of what I got going on......enjoy.

So far I have no idea as to how in the world this happened....but I am impressed lol. More pics to come as I continue the tear down.

If I'm gonna break something, I'm gonna break it all the way!!!

The trans is no longer connected to the engine. The case is split completly around where the engine bolts up. Never seen anything like this

I know right. You would think only turbo cars would need a 1in chain lol

Not really, the boost kicks in much earlier with the s/c set up than a turbo. The sudden kick is what killed the tranny for sure.

I just hope the block is ok!

Block is fine, engine still runs....but the car aint going anywhere. Most of the chain failures happen in the upper RPM band. From what Trannyman told me.

meh, come back when you've cracked the block, or put a large majority of the motor through the exhaust ;)

I've broke a couple transmissions, never a bell housing though, that's just freaking nuts.... what all do you have done to your car?????

I'm still just in awe over this. So, what's the plan for the new trans?
BTW, you have a nasty exhaust leak going on. You should get that fixed.

Only way I can think of that happening is the torque converter exploding, or the tailshaft bracket that bolts near the diff cover to the block was either loose, missing bolts, or not installed.

Good god. Go big or go home I guess. :D

Coming from a damage stand point that is impressive. Sucks, but impressive.
