Saw these on e-bay was amazed at the price of kits. They come WITH air filter and free shipping for $37. they dont look half bad from the photos. Anyone have experience with these?

not sure about the angle of the air flow. but looks like the filter is far away from engine to get cool air too

For $37, you get what you pay for. Here's what a real intake looks like:

Minus the Powerlog exhaust manifold replacement/gasket. That intake ran about $200 if I remember correctly. This $37 job, you can make one for $20 or even less maybe that will look almost identical. Save up and get a real intake, that's my opinion.

Best bet is to slap a $45 9" filter from local parts store (Spectre, s&B, K&N, etc) on the end of the bellows and call it a day. That filter is tiny and the extraneous tubing just adds restriction.

I wouldn't use it ... for starters it still uses the corrugated stock tube. you can build a better intake for less money and better quality filter.

A 9" cone. Any 9" cone. That's it.

Yeah, very classy. Then again My GF's intake in zipped tied to the fender right now. haha. Then again her's was made for a total of 20 bucks so I can't complain.

Just go to a hardware store, get 3'in diameter PCV tubing, then buy a coupler from an autoparts store and get a cone filter, at mentioned before 9inch would be great. Put it all together and boom. It's not Wizair, but then again not all of us have 200 bucks laying around, haha.

Hell, I don't have $200 laying around anymore either. I bought that intake a few years ago... Wow, didn't realize how long it's been since I actually had money to play around with...

it would make more scene to buy a HV3 then a air filter for 200..

And i shouldn't be talking... im running a half-box intake held up with zipties. (i took off one side of the intake, im running like that until i get my FWI fixed/sized right.)

Homemade FTW! $200+ intakes are a waste, and have been proven to see a lousy couple hp more over an open cone one. Here's what baffles me the most. People pay gobs of money for boxed intakes when it can be done with your stock airbox by simply gutting it and BAM done... haha

^^^ Yeah, but me spending $200 makes me feel better about something. I have no idea what it is, but I feel better about it, OK? Sheesh.

HAI PWNS CAI anyday. but during my innocent modding years i did sport an ebay HAI. on a stock pulley i did see gains, manly because i got rid of the stock airbox. but once you pulley down you'll def need something bigger and better. i just bought a good length of high temp tubing from zzp, a 3.5 in aluminum coupler, and a 9 inch cone. nice improvement if you ask me
