Is the Supercharger belt tensioner the same from an 05 impala as an 04 gtp? it says series 2 on its engine cover but i thought 04 and up were all series 3 engines and had the genV superchargers.

Only GPs got the Series 3 engine. I would imagine that the tensioner is the same, though.

yea i work for a nissan dealers body shop and our other store is chevy , so its rare that we get GM's let alone 3.8 supercharged ones.

LOL, i think the insurance company would notice that missing when the junkyard comes to pick it up. so whats the difference between the series 2 and series 3? and why wouldnt they use the series 3 in the newer body style?

The S3 got drive by wire, different rods/pistons, and the Gen V blower.
