Just bought an 05 Comp G GTP and saw someone ask about changing the supercharger oil. Is this something that needs to be done and how often?

I changed mine not that long ago.. Very easy, and smells very bad. They say every 30k, I am going to do it every 2 oil changes, The oil is cheap compared to a new Gen5 =-X

I change mine every year regardless of miles, cause my car is always in boost most the time LOL.

The GF's GTP I change every other year regardless of miles.

2 bottles of GM supercharger oil every time, good to go.

Are their different GM Supercharger Oils for different generation superchargers? I have 56k on my 05 GTP Comp G. Bought with 14k. I've had it about 2 years and I haven't changed the supercharger oil. I'm hard on it at most of the time and I'm going to change it this week, but is it bad I've waited so long?

There was discusssion about using a diff. oil in the SC besides the GM stuff. The conclusion was not to do it. The GM stuff is only 7$ a bottle anyway. Here is a pic below comparing new oil to used oil that had about 25K on it.

haha, I did mine when it was hot. Just used a sprayer off your everyday spray bottle. Stuck the straw in and sprayed all the old oil into a waterbottle.

Nah, too much effort. Same goes for a syringe. Hands down best option is a sprayer... Just stick the straw in and spray it into a bottle.

No tricks, just an allen and you're good. Be careful and make sure you have the right size. Allens are easy as pie to strip when there's play in the wrench and hole

use a ratchet wrench with an allen bit with a long handle... but MAKE sure that its the right/tight bit in it otherwise u'll strip it easily
and yeah it is a little too tight in there
