I'll be purchasing a used L32 for a junkyard for like $600-700 for my parts then try to sell the block itself.

Here are the addtional parts I want to add on

VS cam
3.2 pulley.. maybe
Ported supercharger and lower intake manifold
Stage 2 heads
Phenolic Blower Spacer

I already do have..
K&N intake
SLP headers and exhaust

I'm planning on selling my HV3 insert when this is all done.

It's roughly going to cost me like $3000 for the whole thing vs. getting a turbo with the intercooler for $4000 for the same amount of HP too I think. I have a couple of friends for my car club with a sh*t of tools that can help me out with the install. In fact the President of the club has a 3800 Camaro with a Procharger and a GT1 cam so far... I plan to beat him at our next race on the 1/8

Good luck. I cant see spending $3000 on a Grand Prix just to make it blown and a few seconds quicker. But to each his own right.

I think it's a good plan Tony. Out of curiosity, why are you going with the VS cam? I only ask because I'm also going cammed this spring and have been going through the great s1x/XP/VS debate for a few months now.

I'm hoping the compression of the pistons compensates for the lack of cam hp. I thought about getting a intercooler, but i don't think it's going to be very effective in a hot climate. So I'm hoping porting and that spacer does the trick for me

The s1x is also a very good streetable cam, that makes good power. there's a bunch of s1x guys getting 30+ mpg's with 275fwhp.

Then again the VS cam isn't a bad cam either. I hear it sounds pretty good with the idle set lower as well.

Actually since you are in a hot climate a intercooler will be more ideal for you. I'm getting one soon I just don't want to fork out that much cash, I'm cheap

Lol, I was wondering when I'd finally get one.

How tall is the supercharger itself? I need to make sure the whole thing fits under the hood since I got the shorted dogbones.

Shortened dogbones shouldn't really make a difference in terms of hood clearance. A full size I/C core is 2" iirc, so you only need 2" of room above the s/c, maybe a little more if you want to be safe.

Also keep in mind with a full size I/C you will need fuel rails, which do not go over the top of the SC like the stock ones do, so that will also free up some headroom for the SC.

updated.. the IC would really do me some good... and I'm still more or less spending 3K

VS cam
pulleys.. one for racing and another for daily driving
Ported supercharger and lower intake manifold
Stage 3 IC
ZZP fuel rails

I already do have..
K&N intake
SLP headers and exhaust

and I still need a tranny which is another 3K.. and the stock 3K torque converter is good for superchargers, so I don't need to spend money there.

Not only is the stall good but I'd keep your stock gear set too. as I'm sure you know the 3.29's you have stock are much more desirable for "performance" oriented driving.

There's only one way to find out

It's going to depend on how hard you're launching, how well you stick (the more traction the sooner stuff is gonna break), and how often you drive the car hard.

Do you plan on running slicks? If so I'd suggest stage 2 axles as well. Another thing you might want to consider is instead of buying a prebuilt race trans, just buy a 4340 input shaft, hardened 4th gear clutch shaft, maybe some raybestos clutch pads and all that jazz and stick it in your trans. That should hold up pretty well for a car making around 300-350 HP. Definitely consider the input shaft, I've heard of near-stock cars shearing the splines off of them with a solid launch.

With the I/c, smaller pulley, and higher compression, you'll probably be sitting around the 350WHP area, or am I thinking of some other cam? If you beef up your stock trans it should be ok making that kind of power.

I've heard that the 04+ GPs have a stock 4th clutch already I think.. maybe I should talk to Tranny man, whats his URL again?

HA! I knew I wouldn't have to replace my 4th Clutch.. I remembered I read it somewhere. I do however need to change the chain to a 7/8 one

quoted off his website-

GM started using heat treated shafts around 2003, so if your trans is older it will not have this and is highly recommended to install during a rebuild.
