Hello, So recently i have been experiencing a bit of a misfire on cylinder 4 when i get into the boost, so i figured I would change out the spark plugs again and inspect the wires. The spark plugs had a green tinge to the tips, which I have never seen before. I was running NGK TR55's with no other modifications except pacesetter headers and a bit of an intake. I read that a green tint to the plugs could be from the plugs running too hot? I replaced them with TR6's which is a step colder, so hopefully that was the right choice. They will just be temporary for a few more weeks until I get a smaller pulley and maybe an intercooler or cam with autolite 103 or 104s. Anyways my question is if I should be running TR6's right now or if those are too cold for now. Thanks.

Only thing I can think of would be copper corrosion...?

Yeah, that is a possibility, but I forgot to mention it only happened on three plugs on the back (2 4 and 6) so I thought that was a little strange. Maybe my gasket for the rear manifold is leaking?

What kind of antifreeze do you have in there? That's possible.... And would make sense.

maybe those passeges are right by intake ports. but the coolant would make it into the oil way beofe it reached the runners

Did the car sit for a long period of time? This would apply especially if you live in a humid area. That's what it sounds like to me almost. Cause spark plugs go green when they corrode.

I believe it has dexcool in it still, planning on switching to normal coolant when i get a day off. I see no signs of coolant in my oil, and the level has been the same forever, so i don't think thats it. It must just be normal, but it puzzles me why it was only the rear 3 :S And the car also has never sat for more than 12 hours so I don't think that would be it, but ya never know! Its running excellent now with the new plugs though, so hopefully it stays that way for a while :P

I dunno what would cause them to go green other than corrosion. I have no clue past that. I'll be interested to hear if anyone else has any ideas

Well, I think I'm gonna just leave it as mysterious corrosion on the three rear plugs :P Maybe those three plugs were in a different box than the other three and they were just manufactured a little different.. :S

This is what i found so far: http://www.w-body.com/showthread.php/88 ... plugs-WTF-!

Seems to be on a grand prix too.. They say if it oxidizes and turns green, then use colder spark plugs, so i should be set now. They also mentioned a malfuctioning pcv valve, which i replaced not long ago because the car was burning a lot more oil than it should, which is no longer happening.

Hopefully between those solutions that'll fix it. That's definitely weird though that's for sure.
