I while ago, glanzergtx and I installed 1.9 modded rockers and ZZP Headers on my car. After deleting the egr the car would run shitty unless the penny mod was slightly loose. To fix that we threw the egr back on and the car seemed to run a lot better.

We then scanned (stock pulley) and saw a few degrees of knock at the 1-2 and 2-3 shift points. We then found out I had a huge vacuum leak... we fixed that thinking it would maybe cause some of the kr problems... nope. Same thing.. I think we might have even saw 3-4*.

Then I took it out for a short drive (1 mile) to diagnose the problem and started to hear a clicking sound. #4 rocker was loose, shit. Which had me wondering, since we torqued them all correctly. But we fixed that, started it up, scanned, and saw multiple misfires coming from cylinders 2, 4 and 6.. mostly 4 though (the loose rocker). We checked spark plugs, ect.. Same results.

We're thinking it could be a bent valve?

Sorry for the chopped up story.. I'm sure glanzer can correct anything I messed up if needed.

thanks.

We also swapped the 1.9 rockers back to the stock ones and still are seeing misfires at idle. BUT the car seems to run a lot smoother with the stock rockers back in it.

Cracked injector? Try swapping the coil packs.

injectors were not touched when we did any of these installs.......i could maybe see the coil pack since u have to move them to get to the front valve cover..

I already checked the plugs and wires. Didn't change.

When we first installed them, we used new torque to yield bolts and torqued them to... I think 11lbs 90*.

I'll have to check the coil packs.. hmm

Yea, try switching the coil packs around and see if the misfire follows the coil.

Youre kinda running out of options on things to check, although it coudl be the coils or maybe even the ICM..

What does the scanner say? Any DTCs besides the misfire codes?
Test the simple things; swap injectors from different cylinders, swap plug wires from different cylinders, perform a plug wire resistance test, swap coil packs from different cylinders, etc. These all will show if it is internal or electrical related. If the misfires follow the parts then you know you have a bad component. If they do not change, then you have an internal engine issue or related. Also test compression for each cylinder and inspect spark plugs for cracks while out. Low compression will also show internal engine problem, such as bent valve.
