Besides, it's not like you can even have nitrous in your car (illegal in some states) let alone hooked up (illegal in all states), so what are you to do when some silly ricer pulls up next to you and wants to start a race? Lose cause you can't have NOS while on the street?

What??
Where are you getting these laws from? Have a link cause its BS. It's not illegal to have it hooked up in all states? I live in Texas and it only becomes illegal when its in use. So yes you can have it hooked up.

And that person is idiot for not investing in a remote bottle opener. ;)
Flip a switch and you are ready to blow his doors off.

Last I checked it was nitrous not NOS. NOS is a brand. And I wouldn't use their kit anyways. :)

Jonbob's car, there is a large thread on clubgp about the build he is doing.

NOS=Nitrous Oxide System. It's not just a brand. BS?

It seems as though Texas is the exception to everything because it appears to be the only state that hasn't come out and said it is illegal to have hooked up in your vehicle while on the street. Why the hell you would even want it hooked up on the street in the first place is beyond me. If you support street racing than you have bigger problems than a ticket for illegal modifications.

Most states don't actually have a law stating "nitrous oxide system" but instead word it in the a way that nitrous oxide of any kind, drug related, recreational, or automotive, cannot be in the car in a manor that it can be opened inside the car or cannot even posses it if it is open in anyway. Some states like california have laws strictly stating that the system cannot be hooked up on the car. Other states have it fall under "performance modification" just like excessive exhaust noise and the like.

Here's ohio's law. In ohio nitrous oxide also falls under the "performance modification" section as well.

2925.33 Possessing nitrous oxide in motor vehicle. (A) As used in this section, “motor vehicle,” “street,” and “highway” have the same meanings as in section 4511.01 of the Revised Code.
(B) Unless authorized under Chapter 3719., 4715., 4729., 4731., 4741., or 4765. of the Revised Code, no person shall possess an open cartridge of nitrous oxide in either of the following circumstances:
(1) While operating or being a passenger in or on a motor vehicle on a street, highway, or other public or private property open to the public for purposes of vehicular traffic or parking;
(2) While being in or on a stationary motor vehicle on a street, highway, or other public or private property open to the public for purposes of vehicular traffic or parking.
(C) Whoever violates this section is guilty of possessing nitrous oxide in a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor of the fourth degree.
Effective Date: 01-01-1997

If you want to argue with me, I'll be happy to bring up some evidence again it (I'd rather not waste my time though. You can google it yourself), but I don't see why you would want to when it's pointless to have it on the street anyhow, regardless of the fact that it's not an actual "word for word" law in Texas against it's use.

In the end an officer could use discretion and attempt to write you a ticket or confiscate the bottle from your car regardless if there is a specific law against it being hooked up or not. Because Mr. Officer will see a bottle hooked up and think to himself... hmmmm.... looks like someone is out street racing since there is no other reason to have this bottle in the car hooked up.

Nitrous Oxide System stands for NOS which is a brand.

Funny last time I was pulled over with a full bottle the officer took a look and didn't say anything. And yep that happened more than one occasion. Stop spewing stuff you don't know anything about.

Regardles if it's hooked up some people prefer not to remove it from there vehicle. There's no harm running it hooked up on the street.

And yes I street race and have done so for quite some time now. Sue me.

And yes I enjoy going to the track as well, but the street is more fun.

Congrats your a law abiding citizen. Sorry we are all out of cookies.

So just because an officer didn't do anything about it on more than one occasion means it okay? Are you fu(king serious? As one officer even said to me one time "I don't know the laws, I just enforce them." I stated facts, you stated a instance of personal experience, so yeah, I guess your word over mine. Even at that, an officer uses discretion and can or won't write you a ticket for whatever he wants, i.e. you were doing 100 in a 45, but the officer only write you down for 55 in a 45 so you don't get boned with points on your license. He/she could also do the exact opposite and there's nothing you can do except argue it in court later on. But hey, you apparently know all the laws since you posted a personal experience, so good job. Hope your street racing lands you in jail sometime before you actually do real harm to an innocent bystander. It only takes one slip up or other idiot to kill someone.

Done! I'm not going to site here and argue with a badass know it all cause obviously nothing can your mind.

Hey, Slow6 (and Matt too...) cool it. Or down goes the post count. (delete)

And for the record, I think Matt was trying to say it's NOT illegal to have nitrous hooked up in all states, it's just illegal to have it on and functional while the car is on public roadways. I know in some states that having it at all is illegal.

You got it boss  And yes you are correct in what I was attempting to convey. I'm sorry, but I just have a zero tolerance for people that endanger me, my friends, and my family while on the road. But that's just me.

I just spoke with Whipple Industries. They told me that they still make the 140ax SC, but they dont make a kit to complete the install.

$2700 for the SC

Yeah, they don't make an adaptor. I can't remember, but I think it was Animul Performance that used to make the adapter but he's been out of the game for a while now.

As I recall, they were sold through W-Body Store.

Out of stock, no expected return date though.

Amateurs don't use nitrous oxide. I've seen the way you drive, you have a heavy foot.

What other mods are you going to be running? A 100 wet shot might be ok as long as the tuning is sorted out well. Look into water/meth. it's cheaper, safer, and SLIGHTLY less complicated (still very complicated) to tune for than nitrous.
