That video is what I used when I replaced mine.. I'd use a mix of the docs and video if I had to learn it all over again.

* I just parked my car in the garage, and started taking things apart. My Chilton manual helped me out with the torque specs when I put everything back together.

Follow the Torque specs and follow this procedure on which ones to torque first and last.

You guys are great! The video was awesome too. I've got a question about the supercharger gasket on the L32. I decided to get the ZZP garlock one to save a few bucks but it doesn't include the o-rings. Has anyone used the garlock and where did they get o-rings? I'm also thinking that this might not be a bad time to replace the water pump. I've got 103k on mine. How long do the water pumps last? Anyone have any other recommendations for me so that I'm not pulling it apart again in the near future?

Thanks!

Steven

i strongly recommend u gettin the OEM L32 aluminum gaskets... cause i heard so many bad things about garlocks plus t pays off at the end... do u really wanna take it off again!! trust me u dont
with my intercooler install i used to aluminums one on top of the core and one on the bottom... they were a pain to modify cause they r hard.... but i didnt have any leaks... plus using RTV is agood idea

I was able to order the o-rings from ZZP over the phone. Now I'm wondering about the garlock gasket. I don't think it will be as much of a pain to change as the LIM gaskets but I don't want to have to pull just the supercharger off again either. I've been thinking about doing a light port job on it but maybe I'll wait for a problem with the garlock and do it then. Decisions decisions... Did you use rtv only in a few areas?

I've swapped my LIM twice and both times used Garlocks with no issues.

I also had no issues with my garlock so far.. I would recommend doing the water pump right away too.. mine went out at 60K.. and caused my head to crack and head gasket to fail... (assuming) since the crack was in the same region as the pump..

Anyone else do a waterpump? I'm waiting on a couple parts but hope to change the LIM this week.

You can find the water pump instructions under GM Document ID# 922603
I would replace it while you're in there.

I've decided to do it and picked one up at NAPA for about $45. I'm waiting on parts from ZZP (coupler and SC oil) and hope to get this done in the next couple days or so. LIM, coupler, waterpump, coolant elbows, I think that's it. Anyone else have anything else I might do?
