I've got no low end power.. Can't spin the wheels from a dead stop. I only get wheelspin at 40mph+

Someone mentioned to me that maybe my double timing chain was installed incorrectly. As far as I know, the JP Double Roller (I know of the breaking issues, I am not worried.. Older model, chamfered, milled, et) is setup at "0" on both gears.

I was trying to find a thread online discussing the timing setup, and the only thing I found said that it shouldn't matter. I have massive fuel consumption at low RPMs (including random misfires), but it's happy at any other RPM.

So, before I jump to conclusions and pull this all apart again, I need more information to make a better judgement call. If you have any first hand experience installing these, please post your thoughts.

0 (zero) timing is right when installing the timing chains.

If your car runs at idle, and doesn't back fire etc. then the timing is correct. If it were off, or wrong, it would be noticeable.

You say your using a LOT of fuel at low RPM's? Have you scanned it? The misfires might be because the spark plugs are getting fouled out/fuel soaked. I would start with pulling one, or all your plugs, and check them out. if they are fuel soaked they wont ever spark again or correctly, so you wont be burning all the fuel, or correctly for that matter.

Fuel soaked plugs usually is a result of a bad MAF sensor. The system is designed to dump fuel when the sensor is not working correctly in order to save the engine. Lean is mean and can be deadly. Thats why they have the default setting.

Some times you can unplug the MAF while the car is running, and if it runs better with it unplugged, its usually the MAF that is bad then. But you have to have clean plugs first to try this, again, you need a good spark.

Might ask a local to come over, and swap MAF's for a second and see if that helps. Beats buying one you don't need. We do that here locally all the time. Sucks for me, I am the only one with a LS1 MAF. ha ha ha new plugs would be a good idea too.

Thanks for the post Farnes..

Turns out my 130# springs were the culprit. My timing is good, but it was running like a bag of ****. I just had the car dyno'd and tuned, they figured out the problem pretty quickly. Spent $500 for the new springs and installation, now it's idling great, air/fuel is steady and what not. It also isn't a dog anymore at low RPMS.. I couldn't spin the wheels at a dead stop at WOT. Only when the turbo would kick in at 40mph+. Now it's spinning like there's no tomorrow!

Maybe I'll go out and hold the camera for a run one night this week... don't know how good of quality it'll be, but... we'll see!
