As the title states. My current setup is listed below. I'd prefer an option other than intercooling just because that is so expensive.

What could my next step(s) be to get more power?

zex. xp. meth injection.

Zex you can do 75 on the track, 50 all day, 125 plus if your forged and fully built internals, but you d need to pull timing, scan all the time, idk, safe if done right. its alot more than just buying a button and bottle.

Cam you could do, itll get you 10 or 15 more horse, but youll make a better power curve. Question is do you want to put that much time and pain into the install and everything for 15 hp.

Meth injection or water injection is good, but ive heard iffy about 3800's. Yes it killed kr, he went from a 3.2 to a 2.8, it made a little better power, but on the track it ran the same as running a 3.2. It is hit or miss, and for the 3800 many people just run a intercooler instead.

A cam is going to give you more than 10-15hp. I promise.
A cam is the way to go. Ditch the 1.9 rockers. go with 105 springs and aftermarket 1.6 roller rockers. Then you can rev your motor in the 6500rpm range were you have the power.
My cam make power all the way into the 6700 rpm range. I shift at 6800. Shifting at that speed puts you more in the powerband for the next gear with the cam. If I shift at the stock shift point the motor bogs when I hit second gear. Second gear in my car is 112mph at 6800rpm. I do the 1/4mile in first and second gear. Second gear in these cars are long as hell.

Bottom line Dyno tune and scan all the time.

I've seen that you could do a mild cam and mild rockers, will this put more power or less than the 1.6 rockers with a more aggressive cam?

it is possible to run an xp (agressive) with 1.7 rr's but you have to mill the heads out a little. Im not sure how much money you are looking at dropping, but the more you spend you will have alot better gains, for me and my broke @ss idk i couldnt justify having 1.9s then camming it...but your results will be good if you did.


Stingvett1 what else did you do to rev it out to 6800? thats high as heck, where i wanted to be at when i run, but i thought it takes alot more then springs. ive got 105's but i was thinking you would need to balence and blueprint...sounds like a fun car

stay away from meth/water injection. Its incredibly hard to tune and it raises the compression inside the cylinders so it adds extra stress on the rotation assembly. CAm is definately the way to go.

Eh, after you find a way to pull timing (iccu~200), bottle heater ((200?) You need heat for pressure for consistant runs) fuel pump rewires and volt boosters and all the other crap to prevent a lean condidtion...it costs alot more than i want to admit ive got into my crap.

I have a PRJ LL cam if I wanted I can run 1.8 rockers on stock heads with NO modding the heads The lobey idle is nice to hear with a cam as stated before state away from water injection

More power with out I/C cam over rockers, ported blower or Gen V then a northstar t/b that will make it Breath alot better and find a GOOD tuner dont buy a pretuned one have a custom tune in it

ported inlet and outlet on the supercharger
if you go CAM might as well go ported heads too

BUT

nitrous is always an option too
