Here's a question I see asked frequently. How much boost does your car make? So instead of asking how much MY car makes, I thought of a better idea. How much boost does an Eaton M90 make with a 3.8" pulley? How about a 3.5? 3.4? So on and so forth. This thread can be a reference for those of us who want to know.

Its gonna be different from car to car. I have a local guy was hitting 13-14 lbs on a 3.4 where I was seeing 10lbs on a 3.4. lots of differences to factor in exhaust work, intake work, etc and which M90 gen 3 or gev V.

I hit 12.5-13 lbs on a Gen V 2.75 pulley

15 lbs on a Gen V 3.8... But were think valve float may be causing this so LS6 springs and retainers are going on.

it depends on the specific setup...i have a 2.9" on a genV and see 10-11 lbs of boost. if you put a 2.9" pulley on a completely stock car with a gen V you will probably see 20+ lbs and blow everything to pieces.... like it was said above, camshaft choice cylinder head flow, exhaust flow charge temps etc etc all have an affect on boost levels.

I have been trying to see what KR I have. Tried the Droid with Torque ap, didn't show anything. I bought an aeroforce gauge. Didn't show anything. I've been showing 11.2 boost on both gauges. This morning, 34 degrees outside, on the aeroforce I hit 13 lbs of boost and as much as 4.5 to 5.0 in KR. I'll try it again when it warms up outside. Opinions?

The cold weather will increase knock, because it messes with the tune, and cold air requires more fuel.

I was seeing about 11.5 with the 3.8 and 14.7 with the 3.5. Now without changing anything, I'm around 11-12 with the 3.5. Go figure.

Isn't each drop 2-3lb of boost?

Pulley Suggestions Per ZZP:
97-03 Grand Prix & 04+ supercharged Impala & Monte Carlo SS
3.5 pulley totally stock car
3.4 pulley Colder Tstat & spark plugs, downpipe, Cold air intake (still could have KR)
3.3 pulley all of the above plus a VS cam, SS intercooler, or headers
3.2 pulley 3.4 mods and a XP cam
3.0 pulley 3.4 mods and a fullsize intercooler or an SS ic and a VS cam.
Anything smaller than a 3.0 pulley will require a camshaft, headers, intercooler & injectors.

04-05 GTP or Comp G & 06 GT supercharged
3.8 pulley totally stock car
3.6 pulley Colder Tstat & spark plugs, downpipe, Cold air intake (still could have KR)
3.4 pulley all of the above plus a VS cam, or SS intercooler
3.3 pulley 3.4 mods and a XP cam
3.2 pulley 3.4 mods and a fullsize intercooler or an SS ic and a VS cam.
Anything smaller than a 3.0 pulley will require a camshaft, headers, intercooler & injectors.
