Thought everyone might be interested in seeing this. They race this car. It used to belong to Hank Nava, a Fort Worth officer shot and killed while serving a warrant, and now it hits the various shows and fundraisers and such.

i was actually watching "worlds wildest police chases" one day. there was one where there was a van running from the cops, all of a sudden you see a silver 97-03 Grand prix coupe just fly by the cop cars and catch up to the van. turns out it was an undercover patrol car.

i had a '97 GTP i bought right after graduating highschool. it was an undercover cop car down in Ft. Lauderdale FL. still had all the equipment for the strobes, and CV hidden in the trunk. (wish i coulda figured out how to wire them up again). ended up ripping it all out cuz it weighed litterally like 80 pounds. car also must have had an aftermarket PCM. got the car up to 125 (not something i like to admit) without it shutting off. also must have had a few other goodies that i was not aware of, cuz it always smoked my buddies '99 GTP

anyways...interesting little thread.

yeah this one has all the goodies. If you notice in the interior pic, on the console is the control box for the strobes, and the fogs are red and blues. A ton of people have donated to this car, as you can see by all the sponser stickers on the rocker panels. Im not sure what this car does on the track, but you can bet its fast. My girlfriend is a police widow also and is good friends with Theresa Nava, Ill try to fin out the skinny on what this thing is capable of.

^and most of them, I'd say 80%, are confiscated during drug busts probably. That's okay though, Id rather see a competent Officer driving a Viper than some dipshit coked out of his mind who only owns what he has because he doesn't have the courage, self-respect, or common sense to go out and work a real job like the rest of us, they'd rather just peddle death and addiction to people. Good for the police, better a drug dealer's car than our tax dollars paying for it

lol, yup, they've got a few different models....the fastest one of all is called "Police Radio"

That's really cool, and a nice way to make a rolling memorial for a fallen officer.

Looks like the car was red before (notice the firewall and around the head light) wonder if they repainted the entire thing just for this.

does anyone remember seeing a police chase video on TV where the cops were chasing a black 97-03 gtp. The cop on the radio says "chasing a supercharged black sedan." The couldn't catch up to it until the gtp ran out of gas. Has anyone else seen this? I've been trying to look for it forever.

think of it this way the crown vic makes 215 any thing is faster then a fully load P71 CV they are heavy cars. thats why agencys loved the charger. and they loved the old LT1 9C1 caprices

I don't think this is what you were talking about but it's still a GP that took flight on the police!

THat is awesome, what a great way to remember a public servant that was wrongfully killed than for him to live on in his car and if he was like anyone like us then he loved his car

That is awesome. If I were killed on duty I'd want someone to do that to my GTP.

I was driving my silver 01 when it was stock on 894 in Milwaukee when I see red and blue lights flashing and coming up FAST. Turns out it was a stock looking 01+ (Galaxy Silver) GTP sedan with lights and siren going probably 110 MPH. That thing was pretty sweet.
