Hey there!

I recently went from a 3.8 to a 3.6 pulley with a stock belt and all was fine up until yesterday when I had some belt whine beginning. I investigated today and discovered that the serpentine drive belt was slipping off the crackshaft pulley causing the whine.

I think I fixed the issue, but was wondering if anyone else who has gone from a 3.8 to a 3.6 using a stock belt size had a similar issue. I am just wondering if I should go down a belt size and help prevent from this happening again.

I went down to a 3.5 with the stock belt years ago and never had any slipping problems.

You don't need a smaller belt till a 3.4 pulley.

Make sure when you pressed on the new pulley that it was perfectly straight and that the belt is (I think for mine at least) in the middle of the groves.
