Hey All,

I am semi new to this site. I've looked at a lot of different threads and learned a lot just by reading the threads. I have a 2004 GTP CompG with 100,200 miles on the clock. Mine is probably a simple answer. Sometimes, when I start the car and proceed to go, I hear a rush of liquid from the engine compartment. Everything is fine all fluids are where they need to be. Is it just the coolant system taking in the coolant from the reservoir or is it the ABS/Trac Self check making the brake fluid go all crazy. Sometimes I notice that making a bit more noise because I've put it in reverse, not allowing it to check the right way, but it just moans a bit more than usually and then is just fine. I hope this makes sense. Any knowledge into the situation would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry if I posted this in the wrong thread.

Mike L.

The engine coolant is alittle low mine did the samething. Just bleed the system and add alittle more coolant.

Interesting. How do I go about bleeding the system? They just put Dex-Cool back in.
Sorry I usually just pay people to work on my car. ;)
I haven't touched any of that stuff. I know the Intake Manifold Gasket was re-done in May before I bought the car and I've never
had any issues.

Thanks! =)

Hey there,

I had the same thing happen to mine and it was a bad heater core. Once that was replaced and coolant flushed out and new coolant added I have been fine! :)

The heater core is behind the glovebox area and the dealer or whomever can replace it no problem.

Is this something I can just keep an eye on? I don't really want to replace stuff if not necessary at this time. If its not broke don't fix it kind of mentality. No lights or warning messages about low coolant have popped up. Just a noise I've heard. It is getting colder up here in Upper Michigan and I've had my heat on more in the early mornings. It's HOT HOT. Perhaps that could be why. I do have a squeaky blower motor that gets irritating, but I just turn up the radio. =p

Thanks Guys!

There is a little brass screw on top the thermostat housing that you remove while you are pouring in engine coolant that allows air to escape the system.

If your heater core was bad you would smell coolant everytime you turn on the heater and your footwells would be wet from the coolant leaking out.

Good to know, and no coolant smells and the foot wells are like new. =) The lady that owned the car before me, put these ridiculous like door mats in the front, but its actually kept the whole front carpet looking new, so I guess I can't bad mouth her. =)

Thanks for all the help!
