WHat would make my car die? It sputters and dies when I give it gas it wont rev but seems like it is not getting the gas it needs. Had a fuel pump and fuel filter replaced a few months ago...would a resistor kit fix this? This problem occurs randomly and is pissin me off anyone have this problem before?

what year? last year for the FPR was 2000 in 2001 they removed it and both the GT and GTP used the same single speed pump

i would get a fuel presure guage and see what the fuel presure is at key on then wile it runs and watch it as the car stalls out

sounds like the problem I had... it was the ignition module. I too replaced the filter and pump just a few days ago thinking it would solve my problems.

If your GTP is a 97-00 try this fix, and see if the problem goes away: Fixing your intermittent stalling problem!

Would it happen randomly cuz this happened a few months ago then stopped...its a 98 and it just did it yesterday died over ten times on the way home..finally i was revin it up on a back road and it threw a code that was a cylinder #3 misfire so now not sure if the module could do it or i need new plugs, wires, and coil.

are you throwing any codes? if you have an oiled aftermarket air filter than clean the MAF sensor.

I agree with the MAF sensor idea. I had the same problem and the Stealership tried to tell me I needed a fuelpump. It was going to be 800 bucks for them to change it. Unplug the MAF sensor and see if you still have the problem. Mine didn't throw a code at all until I unhooked the MAF. Most of the time the MAF will not throw a code for that problem. If you unplug the MAF and the problem goes away then that was your problem.

so most recently it is only doing about 3500 rpm and supercharger is surging i guess making a choppy whine...hard to explain but after new plugs definalty sounds better but still there as thinking new wires... when pulling the plugs my #3 plug had a crack in the porcelain which wasnt good. I have a spectre filter on but have had it on for a few months now with no problems but ill look into my maf as well

My car threw some random codes that didn't relate to the igntion module. I never had a misfire.

If the bypass on the FPR dont work or the MAF cleaning, than look for vucuum leaks. If its a small leak than vibrations cuased by engine movement will make it happen intermitently
