Just wondering from the guys who have actually dyno'd their cars how close this is. I didn't buy the gauge it came with my car so I have no manual for it. But I assume it's estimating flywheel hp and not wheel hp. So just wondering how it compares with the dyno'd fwhp with driveline loss calc'd in.

You can go to www.aeroforcetech.com and view the user manuals on there. Any idea which version of the gauge you have?
http://www.aeroforcetech.com/manuals.html
It should tell you how to set the gauge up so that the HP will read correctly.

Looks like I have the "Interceptor" , I looked at the site a bit before I got the car. Should have gone back, quiet a few features I did not know about it there! I wonder what firmware version manual I should be looking at. I assume with it all setup then that it should read pretty close to dead on flywheel hp? (granted my gauage still isn't getting power, gonna go bump that in a sec)

From what I read it calculates hp based on vehicle speed and airflow so if you have stock injectors and a stock MAF table I would imagine it would be ballpark.

Interceptor isn't a version. I should have been clearer. The original versions have a big white plug that goes into the back of the gauge. Then came the version 1.4 and 1.5 which have the 2 plug connections in the back. The version 2.0 and up have the cylinder misfire parameter (along with a bunch of others) which the V1.4/1.5 do not. So if your gauge has the cylinder misfire option then you have a V2.0+. I think the HP adjustment is the same on all of the gauges anyway.

I'll have to take a pic later just to make sure. But how it looks on the back is 3 wires run into a connector that slips over 3 prong (prongs on are the gauge side). Then on the bottom is a conglomerate of wires wrapped in a gray cable sleeve (runs to OBDII I think).

lol, yeah sounds bit fishy. Mine said 296hp with whatever the previous owner had it set for and here's my mods.

L32 swap (blower and all from an 04)
S1X Cam
TOGs
3" DP
SLP catback
CAI
Stock pulley (got a 3.5" that needs to go on though)

Yeah I was hoping so, it shows 0 knock, but it needs a tune. Also has 42.5 Injectors. Not gonna get it tuned till I put on the pulley though, just be alot simpler.

If you gtp was mostly stock and the gauge was showing 248hp than the aeroforce must read at the crank HP. Stock, the 97-03's put out about 199hp at the wheels.

97-03's come with 240 or so from the factory, but I got a motor from a 04 (l32 and a Gen V M90) suppose to be 260 from factory since the inlet on the m90 is bigger.

like MikeyMP said... if you wanna know what you're putting for real HP then dyno it.. which will give you whp.. the gauge will only give you bhp

For sure, just wondering if set correctly how close these come out. I gotta stop being lazy and get power back to my gauge anyways :(

they come with like 200hp from the factory..these cars were overrated in power quite a bit. if i had my 240 hp stock, along with what my mods supposedly add, id be over 300hp right now..in reality, id be lucky if im making 300hp at the crank.
