i was thinking about puting in a low mile 3800 short block in my 04 comp g couse my cars is already in the 200,xxx mile range and i was trying to find one but no luck maybe just couse im a bad resurcher but im looking for one aith about 40k to 80k and were could i find one for the right price and one that fits ?

Well keep looking and put the word out that you are needing one, have cash ready to snatch it up with.

As for which. Well that depends on what type of performance you are looking to get from it. If stock the look for an l32 just like what it has.

If looking for a bit more performance then I don't see why not get an l26 block and basicly turn it into a topswap motor and get a little more compression out of it. ( and should be easier to find as there are way more of them) everything will bolt right on either setup reusing your current top end.

I would build the motor and just hold on to it untilled your current setup gibes you trouble. Unless your looking to do major Modding, in which case no time better than when the motor is out to switch thing up

I have a new unused short block on a stand right now. Has never had an hour of run time, can still see the assembler stamps on the pistons. PM me if your interested. It is an L36 I believe.
