Alright, hit another snag in my plan. It has manifested itself in the form of ignition

According to MS-II documentation, this board was originally designed for one coil/distributor (7 pin HEI for example) and Ford's EDIS systems. Is it possible to have this somehow compatible with GM's DIS? Any insight at all would be highly appreciated. I'll put the pinout for the MS-II board that I have now, and the wiring for the ignition control module.

I have no idea how to proceed at this point. Plz message or reply for more information or if you have any suggestion on how i should continue. thanks for reading.

My first question is why do you want to install this type of unit?
What advantages do you see it having over the stock system?

eases the combination of the newer gen engine with the older chassis. getting them two to play nice with each other, along with the stock computer would have been a nightmare

i hate megasquirt it's good for what it doese but you can not fine tune it as nicely as you can a factory unit. ever thought of buying a OBD1 PCM for a series 1 3800 as a bace tune and going from there?

I have not actually. But there's just so much of a difference from the 88-96 GP's, and the 97+ GP's. It's insane. I can't imagine how much time I saved myself by usin this Megasquirt board.

Not much. Just do an OBD-II conversion (but don't ask me how...), and you're done.

Well, after watching this one that was referred to me from GrandPrixForums.net

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SC_Eh9LFIuY

I've gone ahead and connected up the MS2 to my ignition, and gonna go out and buy a regulator just so i can see if it'll start (...or turn over). Cross fingers. Hehe

*pray*

I've only seen one megasquirt system in person. The guy had it on a triumph spitfire with a gm tb on it. It worked but just barely. From what I could tell the guy wasn't very detail oriented. I think this was the reason he had problems. It looked like someone dumped their spare parts bin into their engine bay. It was a version 1 unit. The new version seems pretty slick. Let us know how it goes. I have a project or 2 in mind that I may try it on one day.

well i have looked at the newer vertions that they have out and i was thinking of the first vertion. the newer ones seem to be a lot better.

i think the current one can even support siquential fuel injection and not just bank fire like the older ones
