Went to North Weald airfield show today, run by Damn Yankees car club. Hot day, and loads of cool cars, including some GPs. Here's just a small selection, all shapes and sizes!

Memorial to pilots based at the airfield in WW2.

That's pretty cool... US cars in the UK... I didn't realize people over there had a thing for American cars.

^lmao, i was thinking the same thing, Rick. "wtf they doing touring the UK??" lol. Anyway, those are some truly beautiful rides. I have to say the one that seemed the most out of place was the yellow BOSS Ford Truck. I mean, they are rare enough as it is here in the US...of course, so are the other vehicles there like the Chargers, El Camino, etc. But those are iconic of the American Muscle Car era...a BOSS pickup just seems so random though.lol

FYI Damn Yankees are a car club, specialising in drag racing. They raise a lot of money for charity, too. They have 2 shows at North Weald every year; the Mayday Nationals, and the Summer Slam. Mayday show was literally a complete washout this year, with torrential rain and freezing winds, etc. This meet was a really hot day, and with the airstrip in the next field we saw some interesting planes too!

That's not an El Camino in the pics, it's a GMC Diablo. Not seen one of those before. There was also a GMC Typhoon at the show, not seen one of those before either! There were loads of Mustangs and Corvettes as usual, and a lot more Camaros seem to have emerged from where they were hiding. There were also 3 Dodge Rumblebee trucks, all in yellow of course!

The American car scene over here is getting more popular every year, and some of these cars have had bucketloads of money spent on them! They always attract a big crowd; can't say that about these Euroboxes, now can you????
