your best bet is to use the brake booster line instead.

My friend had a 93 chevy 1500 with a small block 350...and he used some seafoam....

He filled an entire 400 car parking lot up with white smoke....It was awesome.

I just pour a whole can in a full tank too. It says that right on the can that one treats up to 20 gallons, I think.

Best to get 2 cans, do the vac line 1st, then put the 2nd can in the tank

I do it on 1/2 tank of gas...

I heard seafoam was bad news from a few people, but some said it works great.

I use it 2x a year, on every car/truck I've ever owned...
Don't plan on changing that either...

Will it be safe to use on an engine that has 148.5k miles on it?

I did it on my 02 with 135xxx on it. Didn't see any noticeable improvement, either it was already done before I bought the car at 126k, or I need to do it once or twice more to finish it up XD

Only thing it could to to a high mile car is loosen gaskets.

What IS "seafoam" Is it a brand name, product name or a nickname? Who makes it. And what is it used for - exactly? 8)

Just my little plug for Sea-Foam. I've used this on everything from my day to day driver, to nearly any small engine(mower, tiller, weed whacker, go-cart, generator, etc.) It's not a miracle cure but it sure does help clean the internals! The lowest price I've seen is around $6/can now and thats at Menards. If you look in my garage, there's usually about 2 1/2 cans floating around somewhere. Its probably the most universal and effective cleaner for combustion engines on the market today IMHO.

For all you nonbelievers try this...

heard it at work today...

take a lid from a pop bottle and fill it with seafoam...now stand a rusty bolt in it (head down) and the seafoam will actually crawl up the bolt...neat shit

im wary of seasfoam on a high mileage motor, i had a 91 celica with 203K on the clock and seafoamed it, apparently all the crap that seafoam cleaned out was the same gunk holding the piston seals together. motor seized about 5 miles later.

but, it did do its juob, just make sure your motor is in decent shape and dont held together with crap

I just recommend not to put it in the crank case, except in very small amounts. I put in 1/3 of a can just before an oil change a little over a year ago. After the change, I made it halfway down the street and my low oil pressure light came on, a few days later, I had 2 spun cam bearings. (gave me a good excuse to upgrade to the XP cam, though!)

X2 on the crank case...If you are going to do it, make sure you are going to change oil shortly there after.

As far as high mileage engines, I run a can in my '98 Bonneville (221,XXX miles and counting) about every oil change and have yet to have problems...knock on wood.
