I was wondering what weak spots on my car I should or could be upgrading to keep it running well with all the mods I'm putting on. I was looking at ZZP and possibly a double timing chain due to the #105's? Anything else that would be good investment in my cars future? Thanks for any suggestions!!

If you're building your car...I would start with the transmition...that is perhaps the weakest part of our cars. If you want to be running 12's, tranny is definitely a good place to start. If you're ok with mid-low 13's....then you should be fine....

I dunno much about other companies, but if you're gonna use a double roller chain STAY AWAY from JP brand, just fyi if you didn't already know. There's a pretty lengthy thread on ClubDrama about all these folks who have had JP double roller timing chains fail on them and it tears all kindsa other stuff up in the process. Like Eugene said, it just depends on how far you plan on taking it.... I would definitely consider some trans upgrades, like stronger Input shaft, a 7/8" drive chain(since GMR 1" chain is no longer available)...maybe have some parts cryoed for added security/peace of mind?

My car is my daily driver. 12 second quarter mile is iffy, I do plan on modding my car possibly with an intercooler... Before I do that I want to make sure the weakest points are taken care of. The one thing I am scared of is touching the transmission... Its something I know 0 about. Anyone know any good write ups about this?
