The mod bug never stops so I have picked up a few things and put a little work into the GP as of late. Third paint job on the upper and valve cover is just about finished. The car has also been Zanio'd and I am truly impressed. The Zanio smooths out the factory orange peel and really gives off such a flat base and amazing reflection.

Parts I picked up and currently waiting on...

Rotorpro slotted Fbody front rotors
Rotorpro slotted stock rears
not positive on pads, maybe hawk again
Painting calipers silver with black brackets with new decals for the front thanks to Talia :)
ZZP extended stainless steel brake lines
255/45/18 Sumitomo HTR Z II
Repairing the axle I broke a little while ago. Car has been sitting.

Switching to a stickier tire than the mom and pop style KDWS. Also went with quite a bit bigger footprint front and back as well. Winter time I would like to add the ZZP coilovers along with wheel spacers and tubular control arms if the wife lets me open the check book up a little.

Difference in tires

F body front rotors....are they still 12"

I wanna do 13" but find a way to keep the corvette calipers I have. I think its the CTS-V brackets I need that will allow me to do so.

Look good as usual man.

I do want to get the 13" kit front and 12" kit rear from ZZP, but that might be a stretch with the coilovers for a winter project. Car is paid off in a couple months so I might have more mods after that.

Hey Vic, car looks nice as usual.. I think if this keeps up, we're going to have almost indentical cars on each side of the border. Hahah... Now, the big question for you is... How did that Zaino take care of swirl marks? I haven't really driven/washed my car in a year, it's just been sitting in a garage. The other day when we were finishing up the sub install, I could tell with the fluorescent light I needed some TLC.

I was using Klasse AIO and their sealer, seemed to work good, but it never really fixed light swirl marks. I was going to order that Zaino kit if you approve it on our silver cars. Also, did you apply w/ a buffer or do it by hand? Thanks for the input....

On another topic, you getting any ticking from your engine with your turbo kit etc? Since I put the new cam/heads in, I have a non-stop tick, almost like a lifter. I put reusable rocker bolts in and torqued to spec @ 23ft lbs as per ZZP. I also put a quart of DEX VI into the oil to try loosen it up before I do the final oil change.

Almost debating on pulling the valve cover to recheck the torque spec, since Cylinder1 is always hardest to torque due to the position of the crank when I work on it.

Great minds think along, and drive turbo'd 04+ Galaxy Silvers of course :)

I have used many waxes and polishes on the GP with good results, but the Zanio blows them out of the water even using it by hand. I would honestly say that it would recommend the product and think it will help you swirls. After a lot of reading on the detail forums it seems many people recommend Zanio for light color cars.

I do not have any ticking with my engine and with the cutout closed I would say it is very quite. My car is rocker'd not cammed so I have not been as deep as you, but I would recheck the rocker arms. It has been awhile, but when I first put the rockers in I had done that process over a few days. When all buttoned up it ticked. I pulled the covers after running for a few minutes and removed the rockers to make sure all was set in place correctly and retorqued. After that all was well, so my thoughts were the lifters may have bled out some and would not let me get a proper install (just a shot in the dark, as I could have just messed something up).

Have you talked to ZZP (especially Turbo Tim) about the noise?

Good luck brother :)

Thanks man. I appreciate it, but remember mine started as a rental car GT1. Just takes time, money, and effort.

The hood, bumper, and fenders were painted in January 2008. Speaking of shit going wrong, I just picked mine up at the dealer while they were trying to figure out the A/C. The pressure sensor is about 1/2" from the hot side of the turbo and they keep failing. Just going to rewire the system for now so I have some A/c for a few weekends of meets/shows coming up.

I really love my wheels but they have seen better days. If anything I would look to get another set or something similar to Drunkies. Those are tits.

i have to agree the car looks great.

my car also started life as a rental from avis, in az. so it is clean, and it still looks good.

but like you said, time, money, time, and some sweat is what it takes. i have put some in but have more to do..

Thanks Dude! I've like your wheels too for some time.

I was thinking maybe some day down the line maybe some nice 19" axis wheels in black

As far as the 13" BBK, I plan to try it out and see if it works for me. But as far as doing a 12" rear, I don't think its worth it. 10% of your braking power is from the rear and it may overload your master brake cylinder, just some thoughts.

Next spring is my spring refresh and then I'm done with my car (pretty much the same thing your planning). I plan to buy a house and get married in the next 2 years so...car modding will stop for me for a little while.

I love your idle though...your so lucky to have it idle like that with just a turbo, I want that lope
