i am looking into repainting the wheels on the car but not being sure what color i want to paint the wheels. i painted some extra t-stars i had to put on the car to see what color i think goes the best. after i do the test fitting i will post up with each on the car and see what everybody thinks. i did the normal colors for now.. i did black, white, and a "hammered" silver paint (which has some texture to it)

keep in mind that i am not going to put these wheels on the car to run just color match and i am gonna repaint the 17's that are on it now..

there is a guy locally that has a similar wheel painted white (white car) that looks good and as of so far i am thinking the white, with the silver as second.. although i like the black i think it is a little more contrast than what i am looking for..




i have thought about like a charcole or graphite, gunmetel. but not sure.. what do you guys/gals think?? if you have pics post them up, i could use all the influance i can get.

I actually think the white would look bad ass. That's granted that they'll clean and brake dust etc are not on them all the time.

i am doing them as a couple of them are getting to be in rough shape and dont look that great.. so i am looking to make them look better by paintin..


and i have thought about the gold, kinda like on the wrx's, i have had some suggestions of black spokes with white or silver/gray lip..

i think i am leaning for the all white

well now that the car is back up and running (so far) i decided to get it in and play with the wheels a bit. so i put each of the wheels i painted on there for a reference and a new addition to the traction world..


the silver (hammered) look like stock painted to me

and a suprising gold (for the wheel fitment not acctually the color) these are some wheels my dad made for his car years ago (recentered) using some crome reverse wheels and the way they are made they clear the brakes and fit good, and the best part is that he can still put them on his car and run them if he wants. (he ran the wheels for like 20 years, and the tires for a few months now on different wheels..)












and painted black (with 26x11.50's mickey et streets. like shnike was running just no spacers)

Although gold dust is precious, when it gets in your eyes, it obstructs your vision.

i am still also leaning more on the white or black with white face, i want projectors too, but i think i want black for them as it will go good with the tails and windows when i get them done.

I say white. Certain gold wheels look good on white as well, but it has to be the right gold color.

wheels, i think you might be bias, allthough it is still what i am leaning at.. till i see a photoshop otherwise, if it wasn't so humid, i would start painting them.. but it is way to humid for it to turn out decent at all

well i have had the 17's off for a couple weeks now and finally got busy on them the other night. i still have a couple things to do to "finsh them off" like get the over spray off the backside of them, and i am gonna have some custom stickers made for the center caps.. but here they are (unless i change my mind again).


ok for the parts list, i scuffed them with a green pad (like a scotch brite type pad) and for paint, this is good. i used do-it gloss white. yep as in ace hardware el' cheapo store brand do-it paint. (we have used this on racecar weels for some time and it seems to hold up well for that). and some valspar something or other clear.

the only thing i dont like so far, is that even just to put the stupid things on the lug holes are so small that the socket rubbed the paint off in the holes, but you really cant tell esp from any distance. other than that i like the look (even more when i get the center caps made and on) we shall see how well they hold up, and how clean/dirty they get/stay.
