a memeber on here is going to be trading my SPO grills so i need to take my grills that are black now back to the original silver....i want to make sure to get it all off without damaging the original silver paint....would it be safe to let them sit in paint thinner or would that strip off the silver paint as well? any suggestions?

I believe thinner will also strip the silver off as well. Might be a good idea to strip them and then repaint them silver again.

Don't there's anything you can do w/ stripping the silver as well. Paint thinner/stripper etc are all to strong. Why not strip it and have it painted black at a body shop or send to flip shouldn't be to expensive and paint would last longer.

Thinner will also more than likely damage the plastic by discoloring it after all the paint is stripped off and also make it brittle. I would either repaint them or leave them as-is.

^^Ditto. It's also a huge pain to completely clean off since some plastic are porous (I'm guessing those grills are ABS so they are indeed porous), so if you try to repaint it after you used thinner on it, it could possibly mess up the new paint job due to thinner still being in the plastic.

tree sap you can use IPA (alcohol) which will get rid of sap...ive never used goof off but it may work...just make sure to wax the area afterwards since it will strip your wax
