Yup, it is the new Sigma. Get the M&P. You won't regret snagging that over the SW40VE. Here's a hint....

Image

So yeah. The M&P should easily function as well as a Springfield XD or Glock (I hate comparing things to them, but really, they're the mainstream gun of mainstream guns). The triggers aren't that great, but with a simple trigger kit, should get rid of that gritty feeling.

Good. Make sure you mount the bayonet here and there. It just feels.... right.

Most Mosins were sighted in with the bayonets attached, so if you can't get your groups lined up, try attaching the bayonet. As for corrosive (which pretty much all surplus will be), just run some water or windex down the barrel a few times to clean out the corrosive salts and then clean normally.

I think I am going to have to completely strip the finish on my Mosin's stock and redo it, after trying to seep the cosmoline out with a heat gun, the stock looks like absolute crap.. :(

Don't run water, run Windex. Particularly if you aren't going to clean it immediately...

Shadow, that smell is all part of the Mosin experience! lol

Windex WITH ammonia works great for cleaning after using corrosives.. Without ammonia does no good.. And as Mike said, clean it immediately after using the windex.. I do that with my SKS after every range trip, and the barrel still looks great :)

I like the idea Dave. I wish my basement didn't suck ass, because I would build an armory down there...

Anyway, my claw mount came in today. This thing is now even sicker.

Anyone get anything new? Been warm in Central PA quite a bit lately and I have been out shooting as much as I can. Also been working on the gun room at my house. About half done. Still needs a lot of work.

Thinking about what to do for a door on the room. I have a badass keypad deadbolt on the front door of the house and I could just reinforce a solid door and use something similar. On the other hand I have been thinking about building a book case door as a sort of secret passageway. Still thinking about it.

I am really thinking I am going with the bookcase. My wife is doubtful I can pull it off, lol.

Couldn't pass this Kel Tec PF-9 today.

It just takes some patience and creativity.

That's a nice gun, but I've never been a fan of dark earth on anything. Especially stainless slide guns. Kel Tec disappears on someone my size.

Well at least it more than he giggle. What makes you chuckle about it? Just the brand, or the factory gigantor mags?

Both. I just don't like the shape/feel of Glocks.. and it wouldn't be so bad, but when people talk them up like they're nobodies business.. it gets irritating. And the huge mags just make them look extra gangsta. :)

VictorSmalls - How do you like your Lee setup? I just recently bought a Lee single stage (Will weigh every round for shooting the .308..) and I'm not so sure I like it much.. Think I might be going with a RCBS or Dillon...

I don't have anything to compare it to, but I love it so far. Made 250 40S&W and 200 30-06 rounds so far and it has run flawless. Put some of that 30-06 lead down range and my groups are much tighter than with factory ammo. (reloads are Hornady 168 AMax)

I don't mind the basic parts of it like the dies and press and such.. but the powder loader gives me variable loads every time. I was loading 5.4g last night, and I got anywhere from 5.1g to 5.8g That makes a big difference when the max load for my .45 is 5.7 with Winchester 231 powder...

Which powder loader are you using? I use the Auto-Disk Powder Measure on my 40's and it works out great. On 30-06 I use the Perfect Powder Measure and it is never off more than .1 grain. I have ran IMR4046, IMR4350, H-Varget, and Unique through them so far.

Not positive Tyler. I would send off an email to Lee on the problem.

I might have to try that. The inconsistency of it is just plain unsafe...
