the wife and me are trying to figure out where we want to go for our one year wedding anniversary that is coming up in may....we will actually be going in july because that is when i was able to get off for vacation....we are looking to go somewhere that is around 3 hours from northwest ohio in any direction....we dont want spend a ton of money....probably in the $300 range for a place to stay for 2 nights and maybe a couple hundred for eating and other things that would be in the area....anybody have any suggestions or places around my area that they think would be a good idea?

There's quite a few wineries towards this part of Ohio (a couple closer to you as well though) if that would be something of interest to you both. One to look at is Debonne in Madison.
The lake Erie islands could also be something to look into or even Geneva on the Lake (just make sure you have a front licence plate. Apparently they frown upon not having one )

As for me, I'd go to Cedar Point as well

i would love to go to cedar point because i havent been there in years but the wife is not a fan at all of roller costers...i would be riding them by myself lol....we also dont really like wine a whole lot but it may be something we could try and possibly end up liking....we also talked about niagra falls but its too far of a haul

If you dont want Cedar Point, try Kalahari Resort! Its in Sandusky too (like 15 mins away from Cedar Point) and it is the country's biggest indoor waterpark/resort. Its real fun and it also can be real relaxed too. They have spas and offer massages and the rooms are really nice. I used to go there all the time when i was in HS.

Hyatt...i used to work for them out here in AZ and their rooms in ALL their hotels are really nice. And they are not too expensive either. Look up the Hyatt Regency in Chicago. Its right off the Harbor

Chicago is a lot of fun and there is a lot to do there. You could hit the navy pier which has a buch of restaurants and shops and a ferris wheel and stuff like that. They have a huge aquarium and the park right on the water is really nice. It's the one with the married with children fountain. Plus all kinds of other touristy stuff. It is one of my favorite cities to this day, and I have been all over the world. It is very clean downtown too which I was surprised to see.

I also recommend checking out living social. They have tons of super cheap deals for short weekend trips and stuff. Might find something good on there.
