So, Kyle, Mike (Keebler), Jason (W1ngman), and I have a little place we like to call JankWerks Performance aka, our broke a$$ auto shop (see what I did there? Broke but put dollar signs). Aside from tooling around on our own cars, we also do quite a few others of either friends, family, or anyone else who just wants things fixed the right way and not get raped in the wallet in the process.

If you're on the facebook, check us out JankWerks Performance

Let me share some pics of the fun and jank stuff we've done.

Start with something of relevance to most here. A LIM change on a 3800, in this case a 2005 Buick LeSabre.
Image
Image
And no the LIM wasn't touching the fender's paint! No scratches here.

Mike's TDI during his latest engine build.
Image
Image

A friend's Jetta VR6. Did 268* cams with HD dual valve springs and titanium retainers, dropped the transmission to replace the timing chain sprocket the PO messed up, and did some overall maintenance like clean out the oil pump which had plastic tensioner pieces in the screen (also PO mishap), and did plugs and headlights.
Image
Image
Our very Jank way of keeping the valve from falling into the cylinder when doing springs. Worked like a charm.
Image
And how about this for a homemade valve spring compressor. Also works like a charm. It's already taken 3 heads apart without an issue.
Image

The Cabriolet is also there at the moment, but pics of that are in my "build" thread.

We took an ALH TDI head apart the other day.
Image
Which had valves that decided they wanted to shake hands with the piston due to not being run with oil so the lifters got stuck down and thus keep the valves open. Whoops. Look at the valve with carbon deposits. They are the bent ones.
Image

Image

I'll keep this updated as well. Unfortunately I didn't think of taking pics of every car we've done so far so pictures are in short supply and mostly of our own vehicles. That will change though now that I have a reason to take pictures and keep things updated.

You can't forget our humble beginnings!

Can't get bolts off your water pump? JankWerks can help!

Image

Problem, water pump bolt?

-- Tue Nov 22, 2011 11:46 am --

Soon I'll be doing the STi's rear wheel bearing[s] at JankWerks...unless I can convert to 08+ hub assemblies. F Press in bearings.

I should have taken pictures of the water pump I did on a passat vr6. Lifted the engine wedged the pulley with a screw driver then broke the bolts loose. Pump was seized in the block still so I ended up pulling the pulley getting a block of wood and a dead blow hammer and taking the pump out in pieces *shrugs*. Didn't matter, the kid ran the car with straight tap water the next winter and froze/cracked the block.

We do maintenance on a lot of odd ball stuff I've noticed. Jason's tractor will probably be in the garage soon enough rofl.

Toyotas that don't make any power generally tend to be reliable :P

If I could get the tractor there, it would be

JankWerks specializes in Diesels, VW, GM W-body and Ecotec, and soon Subaru STi :toothy7:

I'm quite familiar with MINI's, old and new, so that's not a problem

Cooper S S/C FTW!!!!!! The turbo ones are quicker, but only come in the bigger MINI's (a downgrade in my book) and don't have the sweet whine.

Oh crap. The Merc ran out of gas. Oh not a problem, we'll just unload the MINI to take to the next gas station.

:laughing3: I've driven an 06 mini S S/C. they're junk. rattled worse than my crapbalts, rode horrible, slow as balls. The m45 eaton does jack shit but produce heat, and the bearings are done at 100k miles. this one also had to have the engine replaced with only a few thousand miles due to a massive coolant leak.
And all the problems that this mini had, i'd never own one.

There are a lot of places around here that just deal with Subaru, Probably because you spend more time underneath it than in the drivers seat.

I don't know when you became such a hater, but your false information is getting old even when you say it in a joking way. I've brushed off the multiple jabs in the past but just drop it dude. If you don't like Subarus that fine but I'll take my reliability and my resale value over just about anything, any day.
