Yeah not a problem.
"Yeah, Derek is our floor manager. He does grade A work."
"Wait, is JankWerks a real shop?"
"Sir, I think that's irrelevant to Derek's performance here."

Cooper S S/C FTW!!!!!! The turbo ones are quicker, but only come in the bigger MINI's (a downgrade in my book) and don't have the sweet whine.

Not true sir. They just turbo'd the later years instead of s/c. My girlfriend has a 08 cooper S t/c and it is the normal little 2 door. Thing is pretty quick bone stock. It's so freakin little and light it flys.

But yeah I wish I had a garage I could actually do some work in. Soon enough....

MKII Coopers (07+) are the "bigger" ones, stupid high hood line too due to pedestrian regulations and those S's are T/C. I'm not talking about Clubmans or Countrymans because those aren't "Coopers."
MKI Coopers (01-06) aka the good MINI's, are S/Ced in the S's.
Look at a MKI and MKII Cooper parked next to each other and there is a noticeable size difference.
So yes true. I know a thing or 2 about MINI's, new and original

lol that hardly constitutes "bigger" in my book but after looking at them side by side I see what you mean. Yeah I thought you were talking about the clubman or something which they still consider a cooper, but, no.

Yeah technically, Cooper is supposed to refer only to the 2 door models but BMW whores the name Cooper and Cooper S as trim levels for the Countryman/Clubman/Coupe models.

The MKII Coopers feel like boats compared to the MKI's. I'd only ever own a MKII if it was a JCW edition one, but I'd prefer a MKI JCW edition.

A VRT build is in progress. Co-Owner Matt hasn't shown up the is past weekend so I held off on further work. Hopefully he comes by this weekend for more pictures and starting the build. I want to get the motor together and in the car so I can start fabbing up a fmic. Plus, I just got a new job with 8 more hours and double the pay. PLUS I'm single now, so the amount of money I have free literally has almost more than tripled. So VRT build could be up and running by the end of April now.

Don't worry, I don't know much about VW's either. Just bullshit it all very well
Or as the popular saying goes, "I always wanted to be a mechanic.... so I bought a VW."
Diesels are extremely simple and yet quite complicated at the same time. I didn't know much about it either till last year. One thing I have learned is diesel tuning is not like gasser tuning

depends who you ask i guess who it was necessarily better for. Whatever, we're friends and still talk, somewhat.... i think she has posted more on my facebook in the last 3 days than she has in the past 3 years of us dating  I got the "I need to be single for a year line" It didn't entail a year before she would date me again, just "needs to be single" So regardless I have a year to graduate and a year to get this car going, and when that times up, either she's moving to a warmer climate with me or I'm moving to alaska, and the hell with all the things.

In all seriousness, if you want to help out. the weekend we plan to get the car running Matt and I can drive down and pick yer ass up AND even take you home Sunday =P buying a VW was the best thing I ever did, until I sold it... then I bought another one... and then I have another one that wasn't running that was given to me. So I've never actually owned anything by VW haha.
