Hello,
I am a new owner of a 2007 Grand Prix GT. This is my very first car and although i don't know a whole lot about cars i am interested in modifying my car. Being a 17-year-old money is somewhat hard to come by. I am interested in increasing horse power to around 300 (I am at 260) and upgrading the stereo (mostly because of the lack of iPod connectivity). Also, I am kind of interested in the exterior appearance but I want the car to look mostly stock. Any advice would be helpful and website links for parts would be lovely.
Thanks

If you own a Grand Prix GT you do not have anywhere near 260hp (I believe they are like 200hp at the crank, like 170ish or higher at the wheels?). Since you are N/A the only thing to get around 300whp (your goal) is a top swap + lots of supporting mods. If you wanted higher then it would be turbo, but probably not on your budget. Since you own the car you will have to live with the fact it is N/A and go with the HV3, maybe get it cammed? (talking big money here) and even then you would be lucky to hit 200whp. Just my thoughts not trying to rain on your modding.

Some sites are zzperformance.com, wbodystore, and pfyc.com....for starters...

consentrate on smaller mods like some appearance stuff, stereo, basic maintenance you can do yourself like oil changes if you have all the tools. When you start getting better money then start your performance mods. I have a 04 GT which I got when I was 17- now 23 and plan to go turbo in the future.

2007 GT is Supercharged

04-08-grand-prix-discussion-f19/office-2004-mod-write-ups-and-other-important-info-t124.html

This will have all of the mod information you are looking for. Some of these supercharged guys will know better, but these are my thoughts.

Headers
Intake
Tune
Pulley Drop
Cam or Rockers will get you ball park.

Thanks for the advice. One more question. Are these modifications things that i need to have a mechanic do or can i do some of them myself? I am willing to learn how to do things but I also want to have someone to blame. My dad knows how to change the oil but not much else.

Most of the modifications on the list are ones that anyone can do other than maybe heads and camshaft. Most of the others are very easy and anyone on here will be more than willing to help you if you have questions.

Where are you located at? Might have a member right in your backyard.

I live in Louisville, KY. I am considering purchasing this performance kit. http://www.zzperformance.com/grand_prix ... &catid=136 Is this a smart buy and how easy would it be to install?

X2

After 05, Pontiac dropped the GTP badge and gave the L32 Supercharged engine to the GT.
So the line went from:
GT - N/A
GTP - SC V6
GXP - V8

to

Base model - N/A with single exhaust
GT now with the SC engine
GXP - V8

I'm semi-close to you, lol, but not close enough to help on a regular basis, not to mention I'm uncomfortable working on anyone's car but my own! LOL

But welcome to GPONA!!!!!
