A thinner gasket might not be as durable, and may cause interference issues. I dont even know of any company that makes thinner than stock gaskets. :confused1:

Cams dont gain alot without more revs, except make it idle like dookie. What would help is some stronger valve springs and neutral balance shafts so I can spin that bitch to 8200 rpms. However neither cams, springs, and balance shafts are in my budget. Gaskets and studs alone are $200...and I still have to pay to replace whatever is broken/leaking. Stupid EcoTec. :pottytrain5:

hey hey hey now, I work on more GM cars on a day to day basis than I even care to admit.

On a side note, Jason's car is pretty legit. But the argument that the VW is high maintenance is false. They are no more maintenance than any other timing belt car.

My dad's tdi has just shy of 300k on it and it's had 3 timing belts and two clutches. The suspension (shocks and struts are still orginal) has only the LCA bushings replaced.

I swapped heads on it cause the EGR gunked the old one up and I didn't want to deal with cleaning it haha. Other than oil changed and brakes the car has been maintenance free.

Granted I like the ECO motor for the timing chain never needing maintenance haha!

I like kyle's scooby. It's pretty quick and only gonna get faster. It's as fast as my cobalt now thanks to my head problems and loss of power. So I show respect, but subarus arent my style. Expensive and not very fuel efficient. Cost alot of $ to make power too.

My car is staying around most likely. Probly will end up pulling the head and fixing/upgrading some stuff.


It's not so much that the cars cost money to make power in, the cost of entry is high though :mrgreen:
