Just wanted to say Hello and introduce myself here. Name is Bill and if it is not already obvious I live near Sarasota Florida. Bought my 97 GTP about 2-3 months ago from the original owner. He was a retired GM line worker who factory ordered the car as a retirement gift to himself. It was as un-molested as I could imagine it being and very well taken care of. It's 14yo but in very good condition. The old guy I bought it from has a 08 GXP (I think) and he is getting ready to go into a assisted living type facility and can only have one vehicle so he was selling the 97. I had always wanted one since they first came out and now finally got one. It's not a DD and am not sure how much if any go-fast stuff I am going to add to to it, I'm sure it will be much more show than go but I have it torn down to replace the LIM gaskets now and found this board a few days ago and decided to introduce myself and my car. I will try and post up some pics ASAP!

Well here are a few pics. Like I said, car is stock and everyone on this board has seen many times but I'll use these as my baseline from where the car started and what it looked like when it was new to me.

Thanks for the welcome. I don't know how to verify this but the man I bought the car from said that the car was one of the first 100 off the line in 97. He had tons of paperwork on the car and seemed like a very straight shooter so I have no reason to doubt him and I thought it was kind of a cool story even if it was not factual.

I won't be getting rid of them, but am thinking of trying them on the 40th, I have some black t - stars too ( or at least more to make black) that I could put on. Will just try and see.

Yep 20% all the way around but only factory glass on the windshield. Was the very first thing I did after buying the car. It has the Black interior and I was afraid to go any darker. I did not want to ruffle the feathers of any LEO with too dark a tint. Thanks again for the welcome.
