Hello GPONA. I just wanted to introduce myself again. I haven't been on here in close to a year but decided to come back even though i don't own my GP anymore. Last winter there was a knocking sound everytime i went over bumps or pulled into my driveway. Nobody could figure out what was wrong. I had a feeling the noise was due to the badly rusted strut towers so instead of going through winter like that I decided it was time to start looking for a new car. It really sucked getting rid of the GP because I did really love that car. I don't know if anybody has ever gotten rid of their GP just because of the rusted strut towers but I just didn't want to drive another winter like that. A couple body shops told me it would cost $2,000 - $3,000 to fix because they would have to cut out the rust and weld in new strut towers. The car had a good run. I had it for almost 8 years and it had 140,000 miles on it.

Now for the car that replaced the GP. One day, my wife emailed me a listing for a 2001 Trans Am. Three or four days later it was in our driveway. The car had 25,000 miles on it and we got a good deal that was hard to pass up.

Anyway, this site was my favorite GP forum and there is a lot of good info on here regardless of what car one owns. I love Flip's build threads and I felt welcomed by the community here. I have found the GM Service manual very useful too. I still love GPs. I will be around to keep up to date with all things GP just in case I buy another one in the future  Someday I would like to own a GTP Special Edition, 40th Anniversary, or GXP. But for now, I hope you all don't mind that I stick around even though I don't own a GP anymore.

The last picture I ever took of my 2000 GP GT.
