Hi -- I have a 1999 Grand Prix GTP with the SC 3.8L engine. I came across this site looking for information to service my car, particularly the water pump and other cooling system items. I currently have a coolant leak which was discovered during routine State Inspection. The technician informs me that it is coming from the water pump. Although it appears the cost for a replacement is not that terrible, apparently the time required to replace it is. I figured since I plan to tackle this job myself, I may as well consider changing other related items such as the radiator hoses, thermostat, etc. before I encounter problems with these. This task may be easy for most of you, but major for my expertise, I may as well get as much help from this forum as possible. While I'm at it, I figure to make some new friends and collect other information about other areas of my "pride and joy". Thanks for reading my post. I look forward to any and all suggestions.

And about that waterpump, as Rick said about the Service manual ^^^^ Just do a search for Document ID: 567070 and that should help you out a lot. Also, I would recommend a metal WP gasket or at least the blue Felpro plastic one. The paper gasket that comes with most waterpumps is just a pain and usually requires RTV gasket maker. When I did replaced one it only took a hour or so and most of that time was spent relocating the windshield washer bottle
