Hello all, I'm Kevin. New here, obviously.

Long-time Pontiac enthusiast. Started off with a Grand Am, and became part of the GAOC or Grand Am Owners Club, and still am constantly active on GAOC. Grand Am had some issues (salvaged title), so I sold it and got myself a 2008 Volkswagen Jetta SE. I then got rear-ended at 45mph and it got totaled.

So.. now I'm back on the Pontiac bandwagon!!

Have myself a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. Completely base with a 3-button DIC, 17" 5-spoke alloys, cloth seats. Bought it from a Chevrolet Dealership and got very good financing on it for being part of the Luther Automotive Group and $0 down. Only mods I have done to it is an aftermarket XM radio with an FM transmitter directly linked to the FM antenna for static-free listening. Hopefully, GPONA is just as awesome as GAOC. I'll see you all in the forums!

Uploaded my sig to the forums. It's really nothing special. My photo editing skills really suck. I'm aiming to get a few mods to my GTP..

5-button DIC, 10-spoke Comp-G alloys, silver mesh grille, aftermarket radio head unit, S/C pulley are among the list.

I'm in Rockford, MN. You're about 2 hours directly west of me. I take it you don't get to the Cities much, eh? That'd be like a 3 - 3 1/2 haul to Bloomington!

Haha, whatever Kevin.

I do still have the GP ..but it's definitely not what it used to be. I've told myself for the past 2 years that I was gonna sell it in the summer but it just hasn't happened. If I still have it in the spring I'll look into goin on the cruise!

Sorry to hear about that 2.5L. Worst VW engine ever!!! Welcome though. Never been on the GA forums, but hopefully this place is just as good if not better.

Eh, it wasn't all that bad. It had 20 extra horses from the 1st gen 2.5 L5. 177bhp, and a decent amount of torque.. I think it was like 170? Anyways, it was reliable for the most part, had a timing chain so I never had to worry about a belt snapping with the interference engine. Would've loved to take a GLI I was looking at.. but alas it was out of my price range. 2.0T..

Yeah stock they really aren't that bad (about the same power numbers and band as the VR's and those are bigger and have an extra cylinder), but I just hate that it was an engine made to fit the american market and is sort of the odd ball engine in the entire family since it's not like the Audi I5's and it's not based off anything like the VR's or original 1.8/2.0 block designs (which is what just about every VW 4 banger evolved from). The 2.0T's are kick ass though. Stock they are fun and with a flash they are even better.
On a different note though, GTP's, especially modded ones, are a ton of fun and who doesn't love some S/C whine. :jealous:

True. I prefer an S/C whine over a turbo whistle and BOV any day. I used to have a 96 Jetta GL with the 2.slow L4. Great on gas, slow as God given hell.

Yeah.. not fun whatsoever.. Really loving my GP though. Honest to goodness, I think it's the best car.. after the 2.5 Jetta SE, then the Grand Am, then the Mk3 Jetta GL, then the dread-awful 96 Corsica..

I guess that makes my GP a little more rare? Having a 3-button DIC?
