Here is what I posted over on the G8 Borads today.

Got the CAI today so here is my review of it so far.

Item: CAI made by Original Parts Group Australia.

Cost: $210 - $250 (w or W/O filter)

Where to buy: http://tinyurl.com/6okw9z

Delivery Time: 9 days

Finish: Both powder coated in black and Polished Aluminum.

The kit comes with:

2 heavy aluminum pipes.
7 clamps
3 couplers
1 small rubber hose
1 set of instructions.

Image

Install:

The install is very simple and with the instructions anyone should be able to do this in under an hour. Here are a couple of install pics.

This finished install:

Everything in the kit is high quality and should last and work for a long time. The clamps work well but I think I may at some point replace them with black ones.

When you order this kit you can get a filter from them but I went ahead and did not get theirs. Price is $30 less with out the filter. I did use a 4x7 K&N filter PN RU-2590 (cost $40).

Sorry for not getting more pics, my batteries die in the middle of the install.

I have not drive the car yet but I will post an update later today after I do. I will also post more pics at a later date.

Given the price, good looks and quality of the items I would say this CAI is a very good buy.

Also if you notice on the last pic you can see my engine cover from Holden.

They are covers. I replace the stock cover with the 2 part Holden cover.

Here is the stock cover.

It looks like a nice intake Charles, hopefully the butt dyno will detect an improvement in power output. Those Holden engine covers look similiar to the ones on the GTO. By the way, nice sig!

Ok I see the 6.0 now that I look closer. You should see if you can get some silver decals to make the numbers stand out. You could even paint the 6.0 silver if you can't find any decals. Did you notice any power increase from the new intake?

I am thinking of painting them sometime. I want to paint the area that is black a dark blue and the 6.0 a silver.

And yes I can feel a little bit of more power. I will get even more with a tune.

Do they have a tuned PCM available for the G8 or do you have to buy a hand held tuner and do it yourself?

There are caned turns and there are hand held tuners. I will be getting a caned ture from Vector at some point. Whats nice about Vector is that they will update you ECM for free if you add any new mods.

Here are some nicer pics.

Free PCM updates is nice to have, too bad the 3800 PCM's don't offer that. It looks like the filter pulls in cold air from the fenderwell, that's a nice setup.

Is it normal to get " turned on" by looking at an engine compartment?
Coz I just did.

That looks really nice, it looks like it belonged in there all along . I need to start coming over here more often, I forget about these sections.
