My 1-2 isn't the best either, I hit the limiter about 25% of the time, I try to shift at 51, it skips to 52 sometimes. My second FWD as well, I had an 02 GP GT for about 5 months, before I got this one, had an FC RX-7 before that. I love that generation of TA, btw. I'm hoping to break 12s personally, with a tune and 1.9 RR, I should be making around 400 bhp. Good tires will help, too, lol. My step-dad's G8 makes around 410 bhp and runs between 12.6 and 12.8, so I just hope that'll be enough to get me close.

My youngest son has a '05 GTO that he can't seem to break out of the 13's because he won't get it tuned and won't listen to me. My TA is running in the 11's realm, but it is still carbureted and running a solid lifter cam. I want new heads, roller tappets, and EFI. My engine right now is making 475/450 hp/ft. lbs. at 6400 RPM. I still shift it at 7500 RPM. I want to keep those same specs or better. I have a 5.37 Moroso Brute Rear in it and an ATI 350 Turbo trans with an ATI 8" converter in it also. Traction is the number on issue.

My goal is to make my GXP run in the 12's before I sell it. Maybe it's out of reach, but since I'm a machinist I'll keep playing with it. It gives me something to shoot for. My wife don't understand why I want to make it a 'Show 'n' Go' car. I'm not sure how far I want to go with the body mods.

He needs to get it tuned (GTO). Those cars are easily into the 12's, even stock. Perhaps he should work on his launch also. What elevation are you at?

Well older thread but i thought i would share my thoughts on this. I have a dyno WOT tune useing HP tuner, homemade CAI and Cutout. The tune was done first.
I run at bandimere in denver colorado. my best time was just last night. 15.149@91.68 w/ 2.154 60 foot using stock tires. Getting a DA adjustment from Dragtimes.com it was corrected to a 13.731@100.86 MPH. SO im very close to 13.5. All of my runs have been letting the computer control the 1-2 shift, then putting it into manual mode to hold second gear. My best 60 foots were with 24 psi in my tires. and headlamp out. Also all my TQ managment is still in place so i might gain a little by loosing the paramiters. car weight with me in it 3890 pounds.

If you don't mind me asking? What P/N is the RR you're going to be purchasing and who makes the 1.9:1 RR? Next Friday, I'm hoping to make it to ATCO Raceway in ATCO, NJ http://www.atcorace.com/ for a run. I'm going to try to tune my car this upcoming week with 'HP Tuners".

Go to www.myspace.com/Beamie4Life and check out what I 've done so far. I'm going to have the pics changed on the car since I've tinted the windows and put the MagnaFlow exhaust on the car. I want them to show on the car.

Subwoofer box is the next project for the car. Stay in touch and keep me posted on your runs and conquests.
