$17,500
V8 5.3 Liter
Rear Spoiler, Premium Wheels, Onstar, Heated Seats, Traction Control, Tap Shifting Automatic/Manual, Moon Roof, Leather, ABS, and other standard features.

I am getting the factory warranty. Do you think it would be worth getting the extended warranty for 5 years 75,000 miles for standard coverage.

Whats the governor?

Any input would be great.

Sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

The governor can limit the speed of a vehicle and it can also limit the rotational speed of an engine.

Not an amazing deal really... In my experience, U.S. prices are less than Canadian Prices and I got my GXP in October before the deals got really sweet.

Mine is an '08 and had the same mileage as the one you're looking at and I paid $20K Cdn plus taxes.

Is it a good deal considering the car was worth twice that a year ago? Hell Yeah.
Is it an amazing deal that can't easily be found? NO.

I didn't look around much at all and easily found two for the same price I paid.

The deals should be even sweeter now in my opinion since there will be some used G8's on the market now.

Bob

Sounds like a decent deal to me...... My dad is a car dealer in Wisconsin so I was able to buy wholesale at an auction here in Wisconsin. Mine is a 06 GXP black with 45K for 11500.....seemed like a reasonable price seeing I had to stick almost NOTHING into it...except turn the the front rotors:)

Definitely get the extended warranty. If you look at the TSBs for these cars, there's a lot of transmission issues, so why not just get the extended warranty, and drive the car how you want to drive it?

It sounds like a really good price to me.

Sounds like a very good price. I would only get the warranty if you are sure you will be keeping the car past 100,000 miles. They will deal with the tranny issues up untill then so why worry about it. Worst case senario grenade it at 99,000 and let them fix it.

I test drove a G8 and a Volvo S60R a few months back @ Blue Knob and the people were nice and easy to deal with. I will buy from them when I want to add a stable mate to the GP.

He will get the standard 100k mile coverage on powertrain, so no need for the extended IMO.

I just purchased an 08 GXP about a week and a half ago myself. I had been looking since December and had missed the boat on 2 previous to this one (someone else bought them the day I was going to write the check). I'm so glad I didn't get either of them though. I ended up buying one that was a personal trade in (95% of all others sold by dealerships are typically former rental vehicles). It's got 10K miles and doesn't have a scratch on it. In fact, the previous owner actually had it professionally detailed 3 times during the 13 months he owned it. It's also got 4 years/90,000 miles left on the warranty which is great.

It came with every option that was available for the GXP including Navigation, Curtain air-bags, XM subscription, sun & sound bundle, etc. The original purchase invoice listed it for around $34,500 on March 29, 2008. I got it for $18,000. I'm so happy that the 5 months of time and effort toward negotiations paid off. Since then, prices have seemed to go up a bit.
I would say you probably got a decent deal if it's good shape and you're happy with it.

Anyone have any comments on my purchase?
