so here was my day. drove about 45 minutes to take my fiance to the dr. and when i was pulling into the only entrance they have i got a nice car wash from their god damn sprinklers that were watering more of the road then the flowers so that pissed me off since i just cleaned my car (imagine that lol). got home and got all my shit around and started the trip to the track (2 hours there). half way there i realized i forgot my star head screwdriver to take out my bulbs outta my headlight so i could take it out (my HID's had to be tightened down a ton so they wouldnt bounce when i hit bumps so they can only be taking out by unscrewing the screws) so that pissed me off. i then got behind a combine that wouldnt get over and had about 30 cars behind it because it was a pretty busy highway so doing 20 in a 55 when i was in a hurry didnt make me too happy. i was lucky enough to park next to 4 mustang owners who decided to move cones so i couldnt park next to em after my first one so yeah they were the typical asshole mustang owners. the car was able to cool off a lil over an hour before each run so it didnt get heat soaked too bad when i ran. got there pretty much when they called DOT cars so i did my first run with the cutout closed and 36 psi in the fronts. here are the videos and details. oh and the cutout wouldnt open at all. thank you possum  . videos arent that great of quality.

1st run of my life lol against a toyota tundra. pu$$y footed it with a brake stall around 2300 with the DD setup:

R/T-.762
60'- 2.321
330- 6.215
1/8- 9.445
MPH- 76.31
1000-12.206
1/4- 14.517
MPH- 97.84

http://s447.photobucket.com/albums/qq19 ... 2_0318.flv

2nd run. 26 psi in the fronts and a 2000 brake stall. i spun all the way through the 60' and i hope i never run this slow ever again. this was against a later model mustang that i should beat.

R/T-.443
60'- 2.575
330- 6.893
1/8- 10.241
MPH- 74.67
1000-13.041
1/4- 15.362
MPH- 97.55

http://s447.photobucket.com/albums/qq19 ... 2_0319.flv

3rd run. no brake stall and ran my best time. smoke the iroc z lol.

R/T-.828
60'- 2.203
330- 6.021
1/8- 9.191
MPH- 77.85
1000-11.899
1/4- 14.168
MPH- 99.80

http://s447.photobucket.com/albums/qq19 ... 2_0320.flv

4th and final run: brake stalled at 1000 and beat a trailblazer SS.

R/T-.446
60'- 2.306
330- 6.142
1/8- 9.330
MPH- 77.47
1000-12.048
1/4- 14.319
MPH- 99.51

What's your elevation? Those times seem slow to me for a GXP. I would expect 13.8 - 13.9 stock @ 101 - 102 mph.

umm not too sure of my elevation...the track is in central Ohio which i would imagine wouldnt have too high of an elevation....if i woulda got my 60' to 2.1 or 2.0 (it was my first time down a track ever) i woulda been around those numbers...accoring to one of the magazines that reviewed the GXP they ran a 14.5 stock but who knows how accurate that is. i know there are a few LS4 guys who are about as modded as me and are running mid 14's.

Still sounds like elevation or maybe heat may be killing you. I've run 14.0x with 2.3 60's and I know a GXP should be able to take me even though I'm modded.

i tried figuring out the elevation and it looks like anywhere from 700-800 ft but yeah it is a bitch to keep the engine temps down on this car.

For comparison.. here in WI

My 04 GTP basically stock except PLog's and full exhaust, including DP, and a CAI

RT - .3377
60' - 2.1233
330' - 6.1477
ET @ 594 Ft. - 8.9034
1/8 ET - 9.5167
1/8 MPH - 73.37
1000' ET - 12.3936
1000' MPH - 84.92
1/4 ET - 14.8490
1/4 MPH - 91.45

All 3 of my runs, I got beat by a 60's or 70's GP :D

If nothing else, this story confirms that Mustang owners are typically jerks.

I like how you guys think the same thing the Camaro owners have thought for years and years. I guess it just wasn't us who got annoyed with the Mustang guys!

That sucks, but it would help keep temps down.

He's already got a 160* stat which will usually set off a code. Pulling the stat entirely won't make much of a difference in performance.

only thing that sucks about the tstat is that i dont have a tune so i cant take full advantage of it right now.
