Ok, I have 28,000 miles on the car. We got a good snow and ice storm last night, and man do these tires suck in the snow. They are the stock tires. Are they just that bad, or do they only last this many miles? I had problems just going up hills. I pulled in my driveway today and stopped to get the mail, when I went to take off, all I did was spin. I compared it to the Michelin hydroedge's I have on the 2004 GP just to make sure, and those went through everything with no problem. I wish I could find the same tire in a 255/45R 18 for the fronts. I looked at Costco, Discount Tire, Belle Tire, and Sears with no luck.

I'm thinking of going with the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus. I can get two for the front from Costco (installed) for $507.98. They seem to have really good reviews, and everyone says they handle/corner great, and do really good in the snow. Anyone have any experience with these?

Thanks!

I've heard nothing but good things about those. I put the Kumho LX platinum's on all 4 and they pretty good, but being so wide in the front most wont be as good as your older GP. So, I just got my Firestone winterforce's yesterday. They're sittin in the garage for sunday and then the snow can kiss my ass lol.

I too have heard nothing but good things about the Pilot Sports...if you can take the price of admission. There seems to be a decent selection of all season and winter tires in 235/50/18, which might be a good option size if your only planning on keeping them on just for the winter.

Thanks for the replies. I never thought about the tire being wider causing worse grip in the winter.
